I love this song. You can see Tom limping when he walks, his hips are really hurting. He didn't want to have surgery, he wanted to tour. (That's what I heard) We love you and miss you Tom. We know you went down swinging.

Tom was such a unique individual. He wasn't only a great talent, he was kind and giving. May he rest in peace.

Tom was in so much pain as we now know that it is a testament to the man he was that, the show must go on. Hip surgery was supposed to be done this month had he lived. You can see him not putting weight on his right leg. He could barely stand up yet he gave the best performance of his life. I am truly in awe of Tom Petty. So cool and so all about his fans. He never wavered. I am still having a hard time with this tremendous loss. To give you an idea of how respected and beloved he was, Bob Dylan rarely says anything yet alone reveal his true feelings. His tribute and moving words about Tom tell you just how he felt. What an amazing talent Tom Petty was.

Well put. I feel so blessed to have seen him in concert, once home in Florida when the band was not so famous and later years. Nothing changed! Tom's obvious love for his audience and his energy were unmistakable. I'll never stop missing him.

Craig Gomez Sorry but this was hardly the best performance of his life, not even close. I’m a fan of over 40 years and I have seen them 17 times in concert, 16 times since 1978 and once with Dylan.. Im not putting them down but I can assure you this was not the best performance of his life by any stretch of the imagination.

You can clearly see his right side,he's in a lot of pain struggling to move around we went to the last 2 shows in Boston and enjoying the shows. Not ever realizing the pain he was in. This tour clearly about not letting his fans down. Hindsight looking at this now I would have forfeited my two shows in Boston rather than having no surgery and still be with us. Miss you Tom and your tours dearly.

He liked metaphors. Said so many times. He says he's doing a song he doesn't normally do. There is clearly something going on with him in this video, of course we all know now. He let everyone know he was going down swinging.... last tour and he knew it. You feel bad for him because of the pain that was obvious but he was also very happy through this, his most successful tour. Mike Campbell said it in an interview that he wanted all fans to know he was happy on this tour, he saw it on his eyes. Hope this helps some fans.

Nobody and I mean nobody should have enough pain meds from a Doc to OD. The standard should be a bed in a hospital if ya need heavy meds. Maybe someday. Until then, Willie n Snoop got the answer kids. I saw Gregg Allman amble off the stage at Red Rocks in obvious hella pain. Made me cry. Godamn I'm 53 years old and re learning drums and bought my first electric guitar. A used flame red Epi Les paul std. Also made me cry first time I bent the g string and it squwak ed.... I saw this concert when I came to New York State . Seen them many times before. When he got to New York State he obviously was on a little bit of medication because he was all over the place on the stage. But even still 6 weeks later he passed. Yes he played this song for me too and when we lost time I cried like he was my brother or husband. My world has never been the same since him. I love this song for a lot of reasons but now when I see him here it just breaks my heart. God I miss this man

This is heartbreaking, yet beautiful, to watch now that we know what happened and how much pain he was in. He gave it all to his music, his band and his fans. Wish he had been able to keep a little more for himself. Such a great talent and a man of great integrity as well. The more I learn about him the more my respect for him grows. The music, of course, speaks for itself. One of the greats.

you can see the pain he is in. it breaks my heart to see. he really did this song, and I think it is one of his best. I wonder if he knew this was going to be the end and this was his way of saying he was going down swingin. tom loved music and it was his life. I think he knew this was his last tour, the last time he was going to there live with the fans he loved. its been 18 months sense his death and it still effects me like it was today. I grew up with petty, his music was the book of my life. he had a real connection with his fans and he loved us dearly. you can see that here and because no matter his pain he was not going to let us down. there will never be another tom petty and I feel blessed to have grew up with his music and his tours.

Every time I watch this video, I cry you can see how swollen his knee is. He can’t even straighten it up and you could kind of tell. Maybe something was wrong with his hip and then you find out afterwards oh yes, there is something mightily wrong with his hip but that awesome man through all that pain would not give up that concert. He said he’s already booked too many people depending on him it’s their livelihood, and he would not let them down. That’s a saint right there.

Ha Joe Walsh played a really epic set, it was too much really it rocked so hard I had to sober up lol. Then Tom Petty came out and I knew they were going to cancel it because I could see the storms rolling in, and after a few lightning strikes nearby they told us to seek shelter, so we got rained on for about an hour, then The Heartbreakers came back out and played this and a very good long set. It was late when the show was over. I wanna say after 1am.

It was such a great show from what I've seen on here! I won tickets to see him with Steve Winwood in 2014. It was definitely a "mountaintop" concert experience for me! One of the best live shows I've ever seen! Petty and band truly loved the fans and all their love and devotion, you could see it in the smile on his face during the whole show. Spreading his arms wide, whirling in a circle, happy and blissful. I loved his bit of banter: "All of you parents here better call the babysitter and tell her you're gonna be home late. We'd love to keep playin' for you if that's alright?" with a mischievous smile on his face. I'm so glad I won those tickets and we got to go. Especially now. Rest in Peace, sir!

Such a loss. A great writer and performer. Very few artists develop a style so distinctive and instantly recognizable as to essentially constitute a genre unto itself. We are blessed to have his music still with us.

I've been listening to Tom Petty from the beginning, but I hadn't heard this tune until fairly recent ... love it.

This is one of the best live performances I have ever seen , the music is brilliant and beautiful, “big beautiful “ that was an exhilarating experience, god love Tom Petty , the heartbreakers sound as powerful as they have ever been or maybe more. Really enjoyed the Webb sisters back up vocals very cool sound! Thank you for this moment 🥰🥰🌻😎🎸✌️🧚🏻♂️
