The more i hear Platz talk about training the more my approach to lifting weights changes. This era of bodybuilding to me is the best......Lee Haney is my favorite Mr.Olympia....my idol is Danny Padilla The Giant Killer.

I think mike mentzer taught platz about recovery. I wonder what mike fought about platz crazy style, i knew they were friend and platz respected and listened to mike
@TheRealSickCentralКүн бұрын
Mike said once in a seminar in 1981 that he and his brother Ray Saw Platz training that year for the Olympia and they realised that “this guy was for real, he was taking every set to failure”.
@danilojanicijevic1658Күн бұрын
@@scotthumphrey4082 They both respected each other, although their training philosophies were a bit different. But mike certainly had an influence on Tom's approach to training and recovery.

@scotthumphrey4082Күн бұрын
@TheRealSickCentral the mentzers must have respected platzs intensity and they must have advised him to do less sets and take more time off between muscle groups, back in there day even mike used to consider more volume
@georgeegermayer6528Күн бұрын
platz listened to mike in regards to keeping carbs high for the 81 Olympia….so did Padilla,,,,both higher carbs more moderate protein and kept the total calories below maintenance level and they both looked outta this world!!!! in shape but full at the same time!!!

Bro is so thick that the incline curl is basically just a standard seated curl with no incline that he can use momentum on. Usually you cant really swing on incline curls because of the incline.

Platz was well known for long sets. Certain people have tremendous focus and enjoy the meditative quality of long sets. Sometimes I start a set and the guy next to me has done two or three sets and I'm still on the same set. I also regularly workout for at least 2.5 hours. Some people enjoy the endurance aspect of training.

@@davemoss9505 no doubt many protocols contribute to physical improvement. Personally I do many different activities, bike, run, powerlift, kettlebells, body weight, jump rope, punch bag….and many way# to train these. I don’t do random, I work out ways to keep it progressive.

He doesn't like volume training, but does a SET of 44 reps. 😂😂😂😂 Enhanced guys go for the pump because the drugs work better that way. 44 reps per set for a natural probably gets you nowhere fast. 😂😂😂

The principle of what these guys said is on point, they have the general idea correct. Newer body builders i dont take a blind bit of notice of as they are on so much junk its not even funny. Guys like arnold, lou, tom, the og's, were not natural but they were not taking anything like what the junkies of today are taking. They built their foundation naturally first. There are a lot of natural lifters that i dont listen to either such as jeff nippard, telling people to do cable rows laying face down on the floor to get a big back, which is obviously bollocks and tells me hes just making shit up to get views to keep his channel going. So yeah you are correct that you shouldn't just listen to what ever roided up lifters tell you, but it works both ways. Ok im going to stop waffling now before i bore you ...

@@Ojthemighty what do you have against Jeff nippard? Although I can understand being put off by “science based” people as they’re called they are objectively correct. For naturals with average genetics looking to get as much of an edge to the see the best gains as possible following the most proven lifting philosophy with quantifiable research is your best bet. So yes don’t listen to genetically gifted idiots and do whatever you can to be the best physique your genetics can attain naturally ie lift with as much intent and as close to “perfection” as possible to gain an edge over idiots who pick up a dumbell and put it down and have 18 inch arms
