Hello Jason. Love the older tractors. I just bought a 4430 this past summer. Haven't had a chance to get it in the field much but I'm ready to this spring. My dad bought a new 2020 john deere in 1969. That's what I learned to drive on. I also have the 4420 combine you have filmed of Mr. Grace's. Bought it last summer.

Back in the early 70s I use to rake hay with a small Allis Chambers with one front tire. That thing would hit a woodchuck hole and bounce up a couple of feet . That always woke me up.

I learned something new here. I farmed many years with 20, 30 & 40 series JD tractors and never knew that there was a nonconvertible front end 30 series tractor made. All the ones that were around our area were convertible fronts. We would run wide fronts for tillage work and then put the single front tire under them for cultivating. Did that with all 3 series then the 50 series tractors came out and they had nonconvertible fronts.

I love John Deere equipment . . Did International harvester have a 4568 ?? [ I know it had an 8 cylinder engine ] My boss had a 4100 at one time it was great to operate . I think it was wheatland tractor & someone put a cab on it .. Thank you for your channel and your great videos , they remind me of the equipment I used to operate when I was farming ...

I can only imagine how destroyed some of those tractors were before he bought them. When I was a kid, my neighbor farmed with a John Deere single front. I can't remember what model, 4020 or something like that? I was always surprised that farms did away with these type of tractors. Having the maneuverability of a fairly big tractor like this, seems like there would be many uses for such a thing? I still remember him coming up to an end row and never having to back up to reposition. I'm sure that they don't ride as well, but not having to fight turns might still be a payoff?
