Love your videos Tom ~ concise and helpful, keep it up :) I absolutely love my Ninja Cafe Luxe that I got for Christmas! Ninja is always an industry disrupter in a great way. I hope they come out with a divided bean hopper to make the switch between beans easier. I’d love to switch between espresso and decaf, or espresso and other coffee beans without having to empty the hopper every time, and scooping out with my hands the tablespoon of beans left on top of the grinder.

One warning about the Nanofoamer Lithium: The Tritan material around the screen is very thin at 3 spots. If you're not careful, they break and eventually the screen will fall off. Hi Tom. I wish you Great New Year. About the Apex machine I,m just was about to buy , when I found it has only 3.5 stars on Amazon reviewers . They complain about E1 error displayed and machine shows random temperatures displayed and stops work. Some of reviews complain about leaks most of them happenning after backflush. Technical support found E1 error due a thermal sensor failure and they put a video showing how to replace it. I'm live in Brazil so the warranties was a complicated issue. In short I'm stick with my Breville Bes870 because after six years still rock solid and zero issues. Thanks for your videos. I really appreciate because they are totally unbiased. Only truth. Best Regards.

Loved the video. How is the Ninja compared to Sage Express Impress in terms of grind size resolution for espressos? The Sage allows outer burrs to be adjusted and is geared only towards espressos whereas the Ninja does not allow outer burrs to be adjusted. Both have about the same grind size settings but Ninja has to grind for filter coffee to espresso range, whereas Sage has to only do espressos. So I was wondering if Sage gives a finer control over grind sizes for espressos.
@TomsCoffeeCorner18 күн бұрын
You're right about that. They both have 25 clicks, and their burrs look exactly the same. I'm thinking too that the Sage's increments must be smaller, since it's designed for just espresso, but I am not sure how to quantify it. Cheers!

@@TomsCoffeeCorner Thank you for the response :) I think one possible way to quantify without a particle analyzer would be to dial in an espresso on both. Thanks for the video. As you asked about the miicoffee, i was interested in that machine and watched every youtube talks about it. While feature wise it looks cool, there were two reasons why I did not buy it, first when you look at user reviews (e.g. on amazon) there seems to be quality issues with the machine from day 1 or week 1. another thing it has non-isolated circuit board, which seems to be easy to burn once first leak takes place, while that could be an acceptable risk to take it does not seem to be easy to find spare parts in such cases. In my case I would prefer a used profitec go which has parts everywhere here in Germany over a cheap made coffee machine that has no strong support behind it so far. This might change later but currently it is a big risk.

Ninja coming up no 1. I understand why but the plastic filter funnel is the biggest weakness Breaks very easily. And without it you can't brew any coffee And they're out of stock constantly more so than the coffee machine which is 550£ in the UK The funnel is cheap to buy but hard to get Can 3d print them though as there are designs online for them but you need a 3d printer

I got one later and so far can't tell where it might break, but I 3D printed a new funnel anyway and use it instead without waiting for the original break.
@TheTazman18 күн бұрын
@6mtzhp55 it's the little tags on the top they crack also the plastic itself is very brittle Issue with 3d printing is whether the dosing is messed up As I feel the ninja uses the weight of the funnel in its calculations The reason I say this is that we managed to use a broken funnel and the machine worked but to many grounds were added to the puk Hopefully one of these KZbinrs can look into it more as sadly no one talks about it
@6mtzhp5518 күн бұрын
@@TheTazmanyeah what I did was adjust the infill % on my print until it exactly matched the weight of the original funnel. You can see the total weight in grams of the print in the print preview fortunately. Setting the number of bottom layers manually gives the "weak" part (of the original funnel anyway) 100% strength so no issue there I wish there was a sensible way to send em out to people who can't get one from Ninja, but postage costs a decent amount, more than the material cost

Will be interested in the longevity of the Ninja as it has so many things going on, will some of the functions fail after a short time? Happy New Year, Tom! Would a separate grinder like the DF54 with the Nja Luxe produce comparable espresso to more expensive semi-auto machines like the Oracle Jet? I'm torn between buying a Luxe with a separate grinder or buying the Jet and using it as is.
@Usernameunknown-w1i17 күн бұрын
I think Tom does show using a seperate grinder with luxe in one of his videos and if i remember rightly although the luxe will pull a shot it wont do it well as it works off its own last grind knowledge. I have had the ninja luxe since october and am happy with it. Its not perfect and can jump around a bit on the grind size, i have some experience of dialing in on manual machines from the aeropress and rok to large machines like the fracino heavenly (using a seperate grinder) and delonghi prestigio and am happy with the luxe as I didnt want to faff about with the dialing in process anymore. On the whole I like the ninja and it makes decent espresso with both fresh and supermarket beans but there are times I know its wrong on the recommendation and ignore it and it catches up with me after a few shots. There was an issue with the plastic funnel cracking along the edges but the replacement seems to be a stronger plastic. Its never going to make the absoloute best espresso but its definitely more than good enough.
