We learn about Satterly's upbringing and how he joined the military. Satterly walks us through vivid memories of his recruitment experience. He shares his experience in the training pipeline and the road to Delta. He recounts the work up to Somalia and the ruthless crimes of Mohamed Farrah Aidid. My dad was a Green Beret and suffered from PTSD. My senior year of high school he got super mad (just like Tom talks about in the first 15min) and he just ended it all…in our kitchen…standing beside the table…3 feet from my mom and siblings. I so wish that he was here today to watch and listen to this episode. Tom and Shawn both hit the head of the nail on this one. Everything they mentioned, I witnessed growing up. We walked on eggshells 24/7 trying to avoid doing anything that would trigger him. Awesome episode. Thank you for raising awareness

Hi, I’m a 22 year old woman. What advice would you give to a woman that wants to be a Delta Force assaulter? How does the Delta community feel about women joining them? If you had to go to Delta Force selection again, how would you prepare differently? Has a woman ever graduated from the Operators Training Course? I’m 5’8” and 168lbs, is that a good or bad size? I was around him for a couple of years in the early 2000s in a support job. He was always friendly, never took a status approach with operator/support guy status. 20 years later, I reached out to his organization for 2 of my friends and he offered his complete services for them. And when I said this one day, the Colonel took me aside and said: Now listen, and listen carefully. You don't wanna go in a warzone and come home with PTSD, no matter how much they pay you. Go study with less money, but forget about this right now. Guess this was a really good advice...

He was giving you great advice. Going to war would've, most likely, caused you to not have the ability to continue your career in that are. Your thought processes and wit would've suffered from the trauma and changed your life completely. I'd say he knew you were good at what you were doing and knew people needed you at your best. Great minds have different gifts and I believe that's what he saw in you. Your gift wad to help, protect, and fight in a different war, for people that needed you to be exactly who you are. His experience is what caused him to pull you aside and give you his advice. He must have really thought a lot of you and had faith in the direction you were going.

I'm never alone because I have the Lord JESUS CHRIST with me. He will never leave me. We the American people must pray for these men for their salvation, healing, restoration and deliverance from the drugs that make people want to kill themselves. America needs STRONG male leadership who are godly and righteous, but we won't have that if men keep killing themselves. It has to stop with prayer, God's love, the Bible, nutrition and natural medicine even if the Lord JESUS has to walk through a wall and tell each man that HE loves them. "Please don't give up men. We need you!!"

If you had to go to Delta Force selection again, how would you prepare differently? Has a woman ever graduated from the Operators Training Course? I’m 5’8” and 168lbs, is that a good or bad size? My observation while these guys start from beginning to end on Shawn’s show, he gives these guys the ability to talk about their experiences, as they are talking is when they begin to have an awakening of how what they did (on some things) actually made a difference and how they learn to see the importance of what they did and it becomes eyebrow raising to them. It’s nice to see this. I think it is so good for them to just talk like they do. I love it! I just absolutely love to see this. And also it gives me the ability to just see how the guys talk and relate. Again, I just love it!

Some of it reminds me of a friend I lost. He was a federal law enforcement guy, not a military veteran, but he had some PTSD issues that I didn’t understand despite my best efforts to. Srs is a godsend and it's always an honor to listen to war heros talk about life, much love to srs and I hope I'm being kept in the kingdom of heaven, the trees speak, and when they do you gotta listen, lest you be forgotten to time and the cold, I wish I could've listened to Don speak more, it was like meeting my grandfather face to face and I'll always remember the hot chocolate when it's time to go inside, when the crickets go quiet, I worry for don and the men we should never forget as Americans when the crickets go quiet. I love don graves and will never forget. Seargent eversman, nor Don Graves for his service to the life, love, and pursuit of happiness in America, not to shuffle my deck in regards to the men who gave their lives in Mogadishu, but I will never forget the core memory of watching Don speak at my school, Don if you ever read this you're still my favorite warrior. And the polar express can't be stopped because I saw don before Christmas break and could not shake the feelings of patriotism as I watched my favorite movie side by side with my classmates in lunenburg, and sipped my favorite hot drink BEFORE Coffee and before my own life in comparison to a living legend. I wanted to help heal the wounded warriors, if only to lend my good ear to the man who could walk the road to Damascus and come back made of gold.
