At 8:05 Tom incorrectly places a warrior token in the Marquise corner while showing off that discarding a fox card would place a corvid warrior in each fox clearing. While his intent was correct, and would have worked for rabbit or mouse, the Marquise Keep token prevents any enemy piece from being placed in it's clearing, so playing the fox card would have only gotten him 3 warriors.

@@TomTeachesGames I am missing my regular game group, but I have been playing a number of games with my two sons. They are my game group at present. Looking forward to getting around a table with people again once the current situation settles down. I hope you are staying safe? Your videos, which only only recently discovered have been really helpful. Rules teaching is a real skill and you have a clear way of detailing the rules. Root can be tricky from my experience. We made a bunch of rules mistakes when we first started playing, so it helps to have things explained so clearly. Cheers

It’s crazy how much our mental health relies on those small and subtle rituals... like, going out to shop, or getting a hair cut, or going out to eat, or meeting a group of friends to play with pieces at a table. Things are going alright here. Digital teaching really does suck the energy out of the room.... so a lot of my gaming is on hold right now. But hopefully it’ll be back before too long. And think of the awesome memories the boys will have with their extra time gaming with dad. These really are the craziest of times! Anyway, thanks for the nice comment! Stay safe and stay sane!

What happens with exposed/destroyed/spent plots? Are they returned back to the plot reserve? It doesn't say that plots are permanently removed anywhere.

I *think* they go back to the board....? Like, the game is pretty specific when things are permanently removed. I don't remember that happening here.... BUT, full disclosure, it's been a dang long time since I have played this....

Thanks I wanted to know this as well, at first I was just thinking about the bombs getting removed from the game, but exposure would remove the other ones so I'm guessing now that ALL types of plots return to the board and can be used again after removal by any means.

I have a question. If you flip over a plot token does it stay there? Does it stay there with its abilities still active or is it inactive and just used to get points?

I think it depends on how it was flipped over? If it was flipped over through "exposure" then it is removed. Otherwise I believe it stays there..... but it's been so long since I've played them, that I can't remember the other circumstances for flipping them.... (Well, if it was a bomb, I believe it would be removed).

Some of this tokens seem kind of useless. I would imagine the bomb token would be the main one used and maybe snare

Yeah but if you use only bombs then it is easy for other player to remove them by gambling. And they get free point for that, and you won't get your precious VP's. So definitly you can't be too obvious with your plot token choices.

bomb and snare are rather obvious raid is great both as a defensive deterrent if you flip it ahead of time, as nobody will consider harming it or any warriors in its clearing, or as a surprise nuke to get a massive army going extortion is best put in an out-of-the-way clearing with a few enemies on it, so you get a bunch of cards on flipping and consistent card gain afterward
