Never get to the table? That's too bad! I recommend sItting at a cafe with a sign, "looking for Root gaming group." Your guides are very instructive and helpful.

That was a wonderful video tutorial for this faction. I have a question if other player use of my mercenaries service its mean he can use of my warriors against me and he can battle with me? and if I have a trading post in the battle clearing he can remove it and I am defendless, that is correct?

If I understand the question correctly, the other player CANNOT use the mercenaries to fight you. Only fight other players. (I got that from page 11, 11.2.7.III)

Technically the Vagabond is able to purchase the Riverfolk's services by exhausting his items, and the Otters put their own warriors into the payments slot. I'm pretty sure, anyways.

This is true. But the Vagabond cannot buy mercenary service from the Riverfolk, they can only buy hand cards and riverboats.

The Vagabond exhausts items as payments, and The Riverfolk Company puts their own warrior tokens in the payment box.

Hey, I'm so sorry for the delay.... let me see how I can help.... (It's been a long time since I made this video, and there are so many factions, it's hard to keep them straight). If I remember correctly, commitments are essentially your action points. You use your committed funds during the daylight phase to do things like Move, Battle, Craft, Draw, Recruit, etc.

To clarify you exhaust items, you don't give the items. Then the Riverfolk player puts their own warrior tokens into the payments box.

At 4:19 I have a question about the vagabond. The forest next to the clearing where the beaver sits. Is this forest divided by the river for the vagabond? Or if he retreats into the forest, can he then move into each of the adjacent clearings? In short, can he move into all four clearings when he comes out of the forest, or just two, because the forest is separated by the river.

I feel like I remember that the river is NOT one of the dividing lines.... I know the rulebook is pretty clear about this. But I cannot remember which way it said....

law of root 2.3 Rivers Many clearings are linked by rivers, which act as paths for only the Riverfolk Company. Rivers do not divide clearings or forests. 1 year late but maybe it helps the next person wondering.

When you lose a trading post - you lose it to the box. But the funds that are in the fund box it says "remove" - so does that mean remove from game or return to their owner?

I think those are returned to their owners...... not removed permanently. Just the trading post is removed permanently..... I think....

All boards have a river as far as I know. The river is just different. I know that fall, winter, and mountain have rivers, the lake board might use the lake instead? I don't own the physical board game, but I play digital.

Oh dang.... it's been so dang long since I've played this game.... or this faction.... but my memory says that during the Bird Song phase ALL warriors in those boxes (oh man, it's been so long) move to the "Funds" box. So, those that were in the "committed" box are moved up....? does that sound right?

This is correct. Committed funds go back into funds on your next turn.

why should i craft for warriors? if the payment box is empty i get two for free or?

Warriors on the board are not warriors. You recruit warriors to move into places you expect battles to takes place so you can sell mercenaries to anyone who wants an advantage in a fight. If a player buys the 'Mercenaries' service during their Birdsong phase they use your pieces as if they were theirs except they can't move them or attack your pieces.
