Lucky to have had lessons from Tom at Myrtle Beach in '91 and '92...played the best golf of my life using his lessons...a super entertaining guy as well! He had more stories (including some Moe Norman stories) than anyone in golf I've ever been around. Marine veteran of Gaudalcanal in WWII.

15 minutes and 47 seconds. A small investment of time that is truly the secret to golf. This is an incredibly great video from a master teacher. Thank you for posting this, Lynn.

Totally agree, liquid gold, i saw this for the first time yesterday, I'm a senior, play a decent game, I'm straight but not long, i watched the whole series last night, went to the range early this morning to try these methods, okay the first couple of irons i hit fat, but after that oh boy i creamed my 9-7 & 5 irons, 15 yards further than before, wish I'd have taken the driver to try, I'll see what happens once i hit the course tommorow, amazing Jem, simplicity itself

Solid impact for a 72 yr old man! Simple and effective. Liked how he mentioned in the previous lesson that teachers today are often doing so for their own gain but the real rewards are in sincerely helping others discover their potential. (paraphrasing). Thanks for sharing these.

I was really frustrated working with Ben Doyle, RIP, in 1993 or somewhere in there and took a lesson from Ted Goin who at the time was the DoG at Carmel Valley Ranch and bouncing around on the senior tour, great player. What Tom is talking about here is what Ted shared with me and got me completely out of the hooks that I had gotten into because I didn't understand what Ben was trying to teach me. Great advice here.

I studied the golf swing per the "Golfing Machine" with Tommy back in October of 1993. I supplied Lynn with the Australian Tomasello Chapter 1 thru 9 series videos (Tommy gave me the video as I left his studio in Myrtle Beach on October 22, 1993). The videos were on one VHS tape, Lynn's IT crew cut it up nicely into the 9 series of videos that is available on youtube. The swing that Tom demonstrates on both the Australian and the Lee Deitrick chapter series is the same. This swing is very close to the swing that current golf instructor Mike Bender is teaching/coaching with Zach Johnson and Jonathan Byrd (Tommy used Standard Hip 10-15-A versus Mike's use of Delayed Hip Action 10-15-B, however both utilized a rotated shoulder turn per 10-13-C). Check out Mike's Downswing pt 1 and pt 2 videos. This is not the only swing that Tommy taught, he taught a downswing very much like what Henrik Stenson is using. Lowering the right shoulder per the golfing machine 10-20-C Shoulder Turn Throw trigger (reference Gary McCord's video on Mac O'Grady for this particular motion), it's a swing I have seen Jodie Mudd (Tomasello student) demonstrate on video. Unfortunately that video is not available on youtube.

David, I hope you're doing well. Were you Dellaware Golf on Lynn's forum? You had kindly sent me a bunch of Tom's dvd's from one of his seminars a long time ago.. Right arm swinging is very intriguing, I have also tried hitting as well. Which hip and shoulder procedure would you recommend for the average 10-14 hcp? I played my best golf doing rt arm swinging per Tom and hitting per Lynn and Ted, but like an idiot I gravitated away from TGM so I am returning w/ my tail between my legs lol...

I have been golfing for 2 weeks and looked at many teachers. I heard of the golfing machine and looked for a good defination of this technique. Amazing how percise and simple this discription is. If you didn't post this video I would still be fumbling around though many teachers that added there spices to the soup. Tom has distilled the soup to the RAW ingredients. The moonshine of golf if you will. Sincerly Grateful

Down and out move is when the right hand moves away from the right shoulder into the full extension after impact. Getting the club into the correct hitting or impact zone from right hip to left hip.

I found this on 01/01/2021. I have never hit the ball better. I am 74 yrs old, been playing almost 60 yrs. My handicap index is 10.2. If only I could find someone who could help me with alignment. I can hit the ball farther than ever before, but I need help hitting it straight.

I am 73 years old Love Tom’s advice. In another video he called his downswing move the Karate Chop downswing. However today I am writing a booklet on what I am calling ‘ The 13 pivots in Our Golf Swing.’ Sounds complicated right? But what it turned me into becoming is a ‘Skeleton Golfer.’ It changed my game forever How does it work? Know that inside our body our bones can only push as our muscles can only pull and provide the energy we need as we swing out clubs. So once we align our bones and joints together as Tom and Ben Hogan teaches; we simply push with all the bones equally in our body for our backswing and then simplify push forward with all our bones equally from our downswing to our finish. Absolutely no swaying from our body should ever occur and all 13 pivots in our body which include our neck will work altogether automatically with little thought The club head will meet at the ball in the manner we set it up to the ball in the first place.. In order to get all your bones working and moving the same direction start your backswing with a 2 and half inch shoulder blade glide of your right shoulder. Alison Thietje taught Tom Watson this one piece takeaway years ago. And all the professional players knows about it today. My material of 13 pivots is not isolate our hips or shoulders separately. This is a brand new concept and never taught by anyone before. Hope you give it a try and please let me know if you choose now to be a “Skeleton Golfer” as well. Cheers

This isn't the only action. "This is a definite throw from the very top" is NOT the only option. You can also late hit. If you "drag" the ball doesn't go to the if you turn properly! It's actually quite simple mathematically= if your wrists are "cocked" slightly before impact(holding the angle) then you turn early=pull, turn late=push. It's really not any harder to time than a "throw". A "throw" also create complications that I could insult and say it's ineffective. You can throw early, late, under plane, over plane, face control issues, spinning the body out etc. These would all create inefficiency. Yet I wouldn't say his technique is bogus as he implies with a late hit.
