Why is he never on Sickdrummer's video? I would love to an hour special of Mario Duplantier, Chris Adler and of Tomas Haake. Then a special guest appearance of Viniie Paul. Many FAST drummers out there in the metal world but I prefer the aforementioned. Vinnie's simply a monster and has this thick, fat sound to his playing. Chris has those double-bass licks that are iconic. Mario has this flow and very atmospheric style. And, finally, Tomas is a math machine. :) ^^

@dimmuslip8 жыл бұрын
+Pikaboss I looked up their performance at the ophidian but if you look closely in this video, you can see that this venue is in some sort of theatre. The song Do Not Look Down was performed at a festival in the ophidian DVD. Still it gives a live sound version! This anthony dubois is lucky thx for the link

Haake makes this band. Hes playing the hardest parts and fills everything in. Guitarists will tell you what the others play is elementary and not hard/ technical at all, its all timing. But Haake saves this band with his grooves and fills.
@southernohiotrailcamvideos87498 жыл бұрын
the guitar is not "hard" in a physically challenging way as I think you mean from your statement but to say it isn't technical is not true.meshuggah uses a lot of 3-3 timing,which is odd in itself.Their riff patterns are very hard to decipher,especialy at first.There comes a point when meshuggah doesn't sound so odd from a structural point of view after hearing it for awhile.but it takes a long time.atleast for me.(American)so very different from traditional american metal.i love the band though and I have to give them props for some of the single best breakdowns/slower heavy riffs of given songs I have ever heard imo.....

He has been playing with this setup appr since touring Obzen I think. I noticed in the Koloss konstruktion video that he mentioned he's stripped off tom after tom over the years, mainly for ergonomic reasons to get his right hi-hat in closer. I believe he also said that he's been "cutting down" cymbal wise as well... Oh well, still enough I reckon ;)

The bottom cymbal is likely a China. The top could be a small crash or a big splash of some sort. Putting them together makes a trashy accent cymbal.

+I Like Juice There're little to no Meshuggah songs that are 'simple' on guitars. The band was never about fast and technical fretwork. They're all about the patterns. Sure, tons of guitarists have the technical capability of playing a Meshuggah riff, but to memorise any of their songs is tough work.
