Just in time for the release of Elden Ring, we’ve covered Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2, Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, Sekiro, and now finally the original Demon’s Souls (not the remake, sorry). With the game that started the Soulsborne series finally coming to the tomatoanus channel for a SPEEDRUN EXPLAINED, we get to go over the From Software game that started it all. I always like to hear a speedrun being able to allow emulators. I know the reasons they aren't normally allowed, very good reasons, but when it IS possible to run it on an emulator while still maintaining legitimacy it's always good to see in my opinion.

I know the reasons the aren't normally allowed, very good reasons, but when it IS possible to run it on telemarketers while maintaining legitimacy it's always good to see in my opinion. (the joke is neither metaphor is accurate because the replaced subjects don't relate in a similar way. what tax avoidances are to tax returns is not equal to what emulators are to speedruns. The concepts that bind the two are different in both circumstances, and therefore, there is no accurate metaphor.)

I'm from the largest(by territory) country and I've been watching this channel for some time now. "Demon's Souls is the From Software game that I think people are likely least familiar with." There is absolutely no way that is true. Most people probably only know about the Dark Souls trilogy, Demon's Souls, Bloodbourne, Sekiro, Elden Ring, and maybe the King's Field tetralogy. Out of the almost 75 games they have made, I'd bet Demon's Souls ranks as their 7th most well known game. That's in the 90th percentile! Here are just a few that I would wager are all far less well known than Demon's Souls, and even King's Field; Shadow Tower I & II Eternal Ring Evergrace Forever Kingdom Lost Kingdoms I & II Otogi II Ninja Blade And that is only the games that are at least kind of similar to the gameplay of the Soul's series. They've made many more games, dabbled in a lot of genres. They've made a lot of mecha games, like A LOT.

Demon's Souls is the only fromsoft souls game I've never played before and this video made me pick it up to give it a try. I'm told it has its problems, the first in a series will always have growing pains, but I still am excited to see how the series was envisioned before Dark Souls became a hit.
