When this came out, I remember thinking how beautiful the graphics were, and how skeptical I was of the story (because I was such a die hard fan of the last trilogy before this). And now, watching this trailer again after playing the game like 6+times, I've never been more happy to been proven wrong. This game is a masterpiece!

SkillianB Um, so? How does that help the gameplay? Lara has always been fit and I have loved her since 2000 when I first discovered Tomb Raider. But Crystal Dynamics took all the good things away from it. I'm sure they had good intentions but it just doesn't work for me. Though I was very sceptical from the very beginning, I was really looking forward to play the 2013 reboot. But it disappointed me even more than I thought it would. This is my least favourite Tomb Raider title, simply because I was bored most of the gameplay, and I don't expect to play it ever again, unlike the other TR games which I still play and enjoy.

Tomb Raider came first yes, but the 2013 reboot used a lot of elements from the Uncharted series which debuted in 2007. Nothing wrong with taking inspiration though. I personally love both franchises.

i just started playing this game about a week ago and omg it is so freaking scary because its so realistic. call me a noob (because i am one) but this is the first tomb raider game ive ever played since i wasnt allowed to play those types of games as a kid). can i just say this is the first game that has made me feel such a deep connection to a character and i think thats what makes it scary because you really feel like you are lara and that you are trapped on that creepy ass island with her.i have to say they shouldve kept the visuals they had for the trailers but its good to see they went back to it in the definitive version. idk how im gonna beat this game without having a heart attack haha but imma try and when i do this is gonna be the first console game that i beat (because mario sluggers doesnt count apparently haha)

I never hopped onto the The Last of Us bandwagon, simply for the fact that the game was overhyped as shit. I gave it a whirl on a friend's system, and I have to say, I was left feeling highly underwhelmed. I mean, I did feel a sharp sting when Joel's little girl was shot to death, but afterwards, I felt it all took a slight step downward. The gameplay was standard TPS fare, abd the enemies got repetitive. I feel the game would have been a lot more improved if it was open world. I mean, why put all this care and attention to detail in this massive environment and not have the game open world? But, that's just me. Feel free to take my comments as you please. The game isn't bad, God no. It was a lot of fun to play. I just think the game is overrated.

Lemme say i am proud to be a Tomb Raider fan, always was. but this is the defining game in which you see Lara Croft really takes a beating. she is hard core and mean in this gritty game of survival desperation. And finally this is a tomb raider game where my mates don't think i'm playing it to perv on the main character (Lara). seriously every time i said i liked Tomb Raider for the Adventure,Puzzle solving and Mystery, they would say "sure sure" and imply i had other motives. Of course i think she's a great character but my friends are just immature i guess :/. i actually think it's an improvement that they now have made her more normal shaped like a real woman.

It makes me so angry and sad at how many people are so down on this game and the reboot in general. I know everyone has their own opinions and that but to think of all the hard work that went to this reboot and how much thought went into the character of Lara, that people have no problem putting it down. Yes, it's not like the other games, so many people keep saying, but things change and this game proved that reboots CAN be a blessing. As for the sequel, I'm very excited despite the fact that I may have to buy a ps4 to play and it's such a long wait till it comes out. I think people should stop comparing the reboot to previous games and not live in the past, after all, the previous reboot was a failure and this reboot proved to be highly successful. Read between the lines and stop being so prejudiced.

I have been a fan of Tomb Raider since I was like 6 or 7 years old. I remember playing these games on the computer and on PS2 for hours. These games have been my favorite no matter what games came out because one they had a female protagonist and you dont see a lot of movies let alone games with them and I love seeing women kick ass I get tired of dudes lol, but anyway I don't even know how to even put in words on how good this game is, it is non stop perpetual never ending action that will have you saying oh shit throughout the game and to me this is the best one ever made I mean Lara takes a big ass beating in this one I mean she hardcore as hell. This is the first actual survivor game i have played none of that other shit you actually have to do it all and you will see what i mean if you play it. Sorry its so long you can skip to the middle where I tell how good the game is I am just a big ass fan. There is a lot more I did not tell you all I can say is play the game

I got this game for free from AMD for buying a graphics card. I thought it was going to be an ok game not really super excited (was more interested in playing League of Legends), but as soon as I played it I was blown away. Graphics, gameplay, pace of the game, story, voice acting, everything was really well done. I rarely bother to complete non-online games but I ended up playing Tomb Raider for 2 days straight until I beat it and then went back to make sure I got 100% completion (or something close to that). Believe the hype this time, Tomb Raider is amazing.

What have they done to her overall in the following games? She had a great group of friends in this game, but she's left with a temperamental version of Jonah that changes races every game. She had a brave, independent personality in the first game, but she's turned into a remorseful hysteric with daddy issues in the sequels. Even the music: Jason Graves did a great thing with the score, creating an memorable and evocative sound for Lara's adventure, but they went with some generic orchestral music for the sequels.

This is a very believeable story for young Lara, definitely gives you the sense that she will become a fearless super girl in the future.
