Okay, so i’ve been trying to get this to work on Steam Deck, i’m obviously using the latest 1.4.0 version and in the setting there’s no “camera relative” thing for me, i did run the game tho, and in the setting there seems to be an option to select PS2 control, i’m guessing this is intended and we no longer need to fiddle in the settings?

Hi again, Jankengu. Yes, I have added to the video description that timestamp 3:19 to 3:40 is no longer relevant, because your chosen control type (Choose from 3 options) is now saved to your save game file. I can't edit the video now that it's been published, and I no longer have the source files. You've given me the incentive to say why.

i have an xbox one controller i installed the xinput folder but only the analog sticks do anything axyb aren't doing anything how do i make it work. Edit: I found the answer, on steam I needed to disable steam input in the properties of the game for controller which is when my controller showed up under controls in game. - Xbox one controller works perfectly fine with this game

Hi, I don't know if you're still actively answering questions-- When ever I managed to get my PS5 controller working with AOD, the camera just spins MIRACULOUSLY and I cant get it to stop. Any fixes?

For anyone else with the same issue I had on steam, the "Launcher.exe" in the folder refused to do anything. I tried everything. Eventually i tried pressing play in steam which launched the launcher and it worked perfect; I have been playing the restored version of this game for hours now

Yes, that sounds about right. Steam adds DRM to game executables downloaded through it, and if you try to bypass it, it probably won't let you progress. I'll contact AuspiciousDefiance (Jathom95 on TRF) and ask him to amend the wording of that note.

I did the steps correctly for the installation, but when i try to enter settings it will not let me open but instead say “enumerating audio devices” what do i do?

I tried to follow this, I copied the bin/data folders over and installed the LAV filters and checked the VMR9 box but the game only plays up to the EIDOS logo and then nothing unless I atl+tab back in and then I can only hear the audio for the Core Design logo but no video and after that nothing. I am using the English Steam version on a clean install with Version 1.4.0 of the RP, Not sure if there's something I'm missing

Do you have multiple controllers or Wireless receivers plugged in? I know I had to mess with USB wireless receivers. I kept only keyboard in at first. Then once your past screen should be ok to plug in once your in menu, but disable all of your things in settings before running game but your keyboard for now. All USB/2.4gh wireless etc. You running Dual Monitors too? If you have vmr9 checked and everything else right something with multiple USB wireless gets it stuck after Eidos logo. I read this somewhere and it worked like a charm for me.

I got everything working with Xbox controller (relatively easy setup), however, this was with the GOG version, and when I moved the folder over to my laptop, the game will NOT launch. I've modded games on my PC, and transferred over before without issue, and seeing how GOG is DRM free, I assumed there wouldn't be an issue. Any help is appreciated.

It may not be a DRM issue but a dependency issue. AoD is likely installing things to the registry that are needed to make it run. Try installing the vanilla game on your laptop first, then move over the mod file. I'm sorry that I couldn't foresee this issue, but I'll try to help you as best I can.

@@joshua.alvane Thanks for your reply. That was also my thoughts (dependencies in the registry), which is a shame, as this would make backing up the game for preservation tricky. Maybe there is a way around this, or I'm doing something wrong - just thought it was worth knowing.

Yes, it does. :) This mod works with all English language versions of the game for PC.

Hi Ayra, I'm honestly not sure. Did you choose a different version of the EXE so it's compatible with your controller? XINPUT is for Xbox family controllers, DINPUT is for PS4 and 5 controllers, and DINPUT2 is for older PC controllers and/or "DirectInput Mode" on Logitech controllers. Also, we don't officially support play on the SteamDeck, but I know there are some people who have gotten it working.

Hi Cat, so if I understand correctly, you've already been playing AoDRP, but with the DINPUT-type EXE for PlayStation controllers? If I may ask, what buttons have you been pressing to Confirm and Cancel in the Pause/Inventory menus? (It should be X to confirm and O to cancel). It's a strange question, but if you're pressing anything other than X/O to confirm/cancel, you will probably want the XINPUT EXE.

@@joshua.alvane Oh haven't tried any yet. Sorry. Accidentally mislead a bit I see now. Just wanted to know which would be best, since I guess steam uses xinput but i use a ps4 controller. Just wanted to know if both would work before I play.

@@Cat-ix6jy Oh, thanks for clarifying. If you turned off Steam Input, you would want the DINPUT EXE. If you want to keep it on (Especially so you can bind LT and RT using Steam's Controller Layout option), you would want the XINPUT EXE.

Hello, good morning, can you help me with this project? You know, I'm having problems getting the game to run. 1st, when I install the mod correctly, everything works fine except when I enter the game, it locks, the screen turns black, it doesn't happen after the set video. 2nd the TR6 shows a number 52 when you enter the menu I don't know if that is the version or what but I know it doesn't happen more than there any help any suggestions please

Hi Stefannyalejandragallego29, I'm sorry for not responding sooner. If the game's title screen says "Build 52," then it's possible that the EXE hasn't been installed correctly. the TRAOD_P4.EXE file should be placed inside the "bin" folder. I'm going to take a guess, though I may not be correct. I've seen that your previous messages were written in Spanish; are you trying to play TR6 in Spanish? AoDRP only supports English at this time, unfortunately. I have another guess: did you edit your settings through the game launcher? There is a small box at the top of the graphics settings (The graphics settings is named the same as your graphics card) that says "Default," alongside words like "MEDIUM," "LOW," etc. Click "HIGHEST" and it well set your "Render Type" to "Shader Hardware," alongside setting the other options to their maximum.

It frustrates me that it doesn't work and I end up uninstalling it, and then installing it again but with a Mod that made its movements flow more. I'm also using a Lara Beta looking Mod that places more enemies than friends. .. Thanks for the help.

got it working for then to be hit with another roadblock. as soon as it launches it says "Unknown file, Please insert correct disk for FMV EIDOS. Thats never happened to me at all before. ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game but its still their. HELP GUYSSSSS

​@@Rafaazrod Oops! I didn't realize. Yes, "vanilla unmodified" is just me repeating myself for emphasis. Both mean the same thing in this case. At least in American English, the word "vanilla" (especially when not referring to food) can also mean "plain," "with nothing extra added," and/or "not fancy or unusual."

If you mean in the video: please change the quality to 1080p and watch it in fullscreen on another device if possible, so you can watch it as you install things. If you mean in-game: if the font is showing up as blocks for you, the Restoration Project should be bundled with an HD remastered font for easier readability. font.tga should be included in [AoD installation folder]\data\effects\font.tga. This will only show up if you have the updated TRAOD_P4.exe in [AoD installation folder]\bin. If you do not mean either of these, please clarify exactly what you mean and be specific. :)

Hi Jankengu. No, we unfortunately don't. None of the three of us have a SteamDeck to test installation on. We've been trying to reach out to people in order to get a guide written up, but so far, no one has stepped forward.

Hi Frantise, Due to the installation process being a bit involved, I've made this video guide. Please watch it; it may just help you. All you have to do is download some files, then cut and paste them appropriately. Cutting and pasting isn't difficult. :D You could even drag and drop instead.
