Growing up in Uganda never gave me opportunities, to understand a human beings potential and how best one can tap into maximising your abilities to be the best you can be. This channel is waking me up into self belief and how far I can go in this life I have. I left Uganda 8 years ago and started from scratch, I have no regrets because the process has been humbling and beautiful . Thank you @Tom for not monetizing this. That moment after 20:10 when he starts talking about the scope of how he builds his life. Totally bullshit. This is equivalent to broscience i.e not based in reality. Progress in itself is hollow. Progress i.e. success without fulfillment is failure. Happiness is collection of 4 factors: - Having a sense of family (nurturing) - Having a sense of community (belonging) - Doing good work (that gives you purpose & creates value in your life) - Having faith in something greater yourself (cosmos, god, whatever that transcends you)

This episode was so on point for me just now. I worked through it ~3 times straight, putting down notes and ended up with a mindmap of my biggest personal goal at the moment which is building a respectful & clean life. I find myself in that stage where I'm building a systematical balance to back my passionate and ambitious grit to be able to function fruitfully in long term and also be enough established for my future partner. You covered all the right stuff for me, and as a bonus you circled around with the themes of the q-s I've been able to ask and get answers from you in AMA. 2+in1, about suitable partner and memory by journaling (which I took up and is going very well) So this ep stuck out for me quite hard. Thank You, Tom and Rob!

Definitely agree with "start with the end in mind" philosophy for entrepreneurship, personal projects, and your whole life. and I love how he understands "energy flows" AND personal goals - enjoying your day and working towards even MORE of what you want. this requires *total clarity* which is hard to achieve. great interview

I love interviews like this with people who came from some field that you don't normally associate with entrepreneurship. I've been watching Rob in different formats for a very long time. First as a skateboarder then as a reality tv star, etc. I first heard his business story about 7 years ago and was blown away. So many people know his goofy side - I'm super excited to hear him able to speak more on the nuts and bolts behind how he puts things together. It's way too often that kids see and want to be like somebody with his style and charisma, but don't understand what it actually takes for that person to have created what they did.

I felt connected as well when both Rob and Tom said they have memory chunks, you know like how you forget certain moments of joy or morals, I overcome this by writing the happy moments down, so it just stays there you know, the rest of the negatives just naturally get flushed down the drain. So I believe in this way, forgetting is more of a gift than a curse.

This is just out right amazing, I keep getting that tingly inspirational feeling in my chest. I may have to watch this everyday for awhile. My fav part of KZbin is the ability to pick the brains of these successfully people. I’m not them and will find my own way but I learn from everybody. Studying successfully people is my forte and this is one of the best interviews I’ve ever seen/found! 🙌🏽👏🏽

I love this channel but I think RobTouched a crucial (although less glamorous and marketable) first step that is missing from the show. BASICS passion is great but if you don’t have a savings account or a happy marriage (like myself..fixing ) oryou’re simply not executing to perfection whatever mediocre job of have right now (again me) ...Figure that shit out first. If you don’t have routine that encompasses making you’re bed brushing your teeth and washing your face in the morning, and a power down routine that set you up for the morning: Stop 🛑 and do those right first. Then focus on the following Personally this is the order Ihave chosen and Ithink its solid. Health ( water, vitamins, stretch in morning and evening, some work with weights 3days out of the week (variation of 5x5 routine)) Spirituality (Select 2-3 to do DAILY : affirmations, mindfulness, gratitude list, transcendental, yoga 🧘‍♀️ church ⛪ i do all but the last one) , Realtionships ( nothing crazy just be sure to hug a couple people a day and text 2 people a short fucking “you’re awesome “ or”Ilvoe you” (heartfelt: a noncreepy grateful for you being in my life thing) and post a 5 pointlist of how to deal with approach difficult or tense conversations (i find that thisistheshit that “suckthemostenergry” tophrase Rob)) FINANCIAL (google “personal finances review questionnaire/checklist” fill it out and look at it everyday right after lunch” if you’re so inclined also read one personal financial articles a day .... again google blogs) Organization (Dont get crazy these following areas : Bedroom DUH, Kitchen, Car, and Workplace. Tie it alll together with a Pwer up and Pwer down sequence that set u up for tomorrow) Pleasant Fun shit( keep it simple and cheap google it. Here are a few :Take a walk read youre favorite book hug youre dog eat a piece of fruit WHY: when you start working harder and if you start doing these things you will!!! you can PROMODO Technique (google it)youre day you willl have rewards that wont slow you down but speed you up unlike the black hole of cell phone you consistently use) and finally Career (why is this last because if you feel like crap, have no feeling of self love or gratitude, no good relationships, you can’t find shit, and youre not having some fun its gonna be pretty fucking difficult to take on the necessary hard work of mastering or even finding youre passion) Love you Tom but please start pushing these things, SO kids don’t struggle unnecessarily . Hope to be in the Justice League with you one day :)

sound dream I think 🤔 you touched on something I hadn’t considered, so thank you 😊! There are places from which the pathway to mediocrity is one close to impossible for more than I’d like to even think about. But I believe in my heart that it is very important as member of this species that we both acknowledge it’s difficulty and work to solve it. I can’t CURRENTLY think of a way to help the younger version of myself without the hours of reading , listening and most importantly experiencing my life the way I have. I mean how do you replicate the awe inspiring gut wrenching defeat of trying drowning and subsequently failing to become a NAVY seal. ... that is not to say that is the only way but certainly there is one. For Everyone! The hypothesis I have currently is that through positive emotional ambience through... Sounds touch smell sight taste; in much the same way that hours of torture are effective in breaking a man than so to is the opposite. That the positive nature of mankind will bleed through in a torrent that only the internet can bring about. All I’m proposing is that those in a position to make change challenge themselves to bring real actionable steps to that nature in those most in need of it. So if there is an individual who hasn’t someone to hug or text ...Sound Dream how do we bring them within a whispers distance of the solution? I kind of vomited 🤮 my 1st comment out there , in the excitement but it is definitely not to everyone especially those in the circumstances you pointed out. So apologies but I sincerely would like have better solution so as to help my younger siblings specifically buT definitely the world 🌎... you know because SATURDAY MORNING CARTOONS got me all messed up when I was younger in those most beautiful way 😇😎

I appreciate the initial comment as we all sound dream's input. From my experience coming from a place of enormous trauma, neglect, and abandonment, the effort required to clear myself out, build myself up and get to the point where I am emotionally and mentally stable enough to even THINK about building a solid foundation>routine>basic needs/normality>steady steps in the direction of my dreams etc is massive. Most people in our society are just so weighed down with the stress and pressures of survival, and when one doesn't have a support network it becomes that much harder. As someone building myself back up from scratch, I find great value in someone laying out in simple terms the basic pragmatic grounded steps to living a balanced successful life the way you did Ricardo. Thank you for the comment and the discussion. I think that there are a million ways to find what works for you, and everyone is unique. But basics of being a balanced human being are super important, so thanks.

This was AWESOME. The amount of insane things he's done just fell away as this interview went on and i felt like i just zoned into what was being said amd truely heard it. Was like tunnel vision. Its so easy to get caught up in all that someone has done and their stories but to actually HEAR what their doing now and whats real in this moment is effing awesome. Truely one of my favorite impact theory interviews.. i feel so clear and focused now! THANK YOU for bring it!!!!

Wow! Absolute gold right here. I believe I operate and view the world extremely similar to Rob. It was like being able to listen a very successful, future version of me. I just fast forwarded through several years of trial and error by listening to these processes of thinking that Rob described. I have the baby version of many of these ideas right now. But now I can speed up their effectiveness by knowing what that end version looks like. Just phenomenal value here!! I could never thank you enough, Tom for the value you and Impact Theory add to my life. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

I just recently watched the new Think And Grow Rich movie. In the movie, Rob said something that really hit me. He said, “Most people obsess over what success can give them, instead of obsessing over what it would take to get success.” How eye-opening is that? Some of us including me need to change our focus.
