THANKS for this video Tom. I was really struggling with this. Im from Argentina and im going to release my first song in a month and ive watched ALL of your videos. And when i say all, its all hahaha. Im setting everything up so that i can make my conversion campaing as soon as the song comes out. Im a little bit scared because in Argentina the return for a stream is reeeeeally low and its going to be very difficult to recover the money and make some profits but things are like this in Argentina jajaj. It sounds like you may have accidentally attributed some additional parameters to your conversion. I would pick through your setting to see if you can suss it out.

If you're on an iPhone you may need to review your privacy settings. That's what the iOS 14 updates were all about.

I've never had them outright not work, but there have been a couple of occasions where they've been a bit slow due to server maintenance or platform updates. That usually gets sorted pretty quickly though.

If you’re running conversion ads you’ll now have to use your own domain. But a traffic campaign will be ok.

Yes, you will need to have the event plugged to your domain as well. Connect your domain to ToneDen, set up a smart link using that custom domain, then use the event test tool on Facebook to trigger a View Content event from that ToneDen landing page. Once that fires, it will send a signal to Facebook that that specific event is now available and being used on your custom domain. You may have to wait a bit for it to catch up, but once it does, you will be able to configure that event and attach it to your own domain in the event manager.

@@tomdupreeiii Major update: After my ads were active from changes in the link to the subdomain, my account was disable! I have no clue why.... This is the message I got: Unacceptable Business Practices Policy - We don't allow ads that promote products, services, schemes or offers using deceptive or misleading practices, including those meant to mislead or scam people out of money or personal information (e.g. products that boost Facebook or Instagram likes etc.). Please read through our Policy for more details including a few examples of do's and don'ts. I just promote my music through Toneden

I read this in my Ads Manager (translated from French): "we will use our Aggregate Event Measurement protocol to process events from people using an iOS 14 device who have opted out of data sharing to help you optimize and understand the performance of your campaigns" My interpretation is that the scary message will always pop up, but even if the user choses not to be tracked, Facebook has found a way to make our campaign work... I don't know how! I find the answer to this question so crucial for the performance of our campaigns and I'm surprised it hasn't really been discussed.

@adrien de la salle my interpretation of it was that is was at the app level, or even to OS level, not necessarily the site level. So someone could opt out of being tracked by Facebook or could just opt out of tracking altogether when they update their iOS. But I’m not positive about that. I can’t see them promoting that pop up every time someone clicks on any link in Facebook. That seems excessive.

If my main domain is tomdupreeiii.com, a subdomain would be something like go.tomdupreeiii.com or social.tomdupreeiii.com. In this case “go” and “social” would be the subdomains.

There’s a possibility your ads will stop working with Facebook. Apples iOS 14 update has changed their requirements.

Just tried it yesterday and everything worked fine with making my custom domain all the way up to the very end when the campaign got hit with an "upgrade your plan to be able to finalize your campaign". Hi Tom, did you experienced some troubles with ToneDen links loading very slow or not working? I'm running a campaign for 2-3 days (10$/day) using the ToneDen links with the pixel conversion, and it seems very strange for me, that from around 2000 link clicks, I have only 45 conversions (CTR ~ 10-12%). So I thing maybe their servise is working very slow and people do not have the patience to wait for the link to load? Ive tested the link myself in an incognito window, and sometimes it was loading pretty slowly ~ 10sec and once it did't load at all, trying multiple times in a row, and it loaded again after 15-20min. Is it possible that there's something wrong with their server or it is ok to have such statistic data in the first days of running a campaign? Thanks in advance!

p.s. I've also tried to open random links from sponsored instagram stories, and tried to open a toneden link once, and it only worked from the 3rd time of trying to open it. Maybe a lot of musicians are using their server, and their bandwidth can't face so many entries?
