Graham Farish N Gauge Size 3 'Bournemouth Belle' Super Train Set Unboxing

Following on from my 2022 christmas haul video, we take a look at one of the best train sets in my opinion that was available in n gauge, its the bournemouth belle set from around 1999-2000.
I have to apologise if the video drags on a bit i did want to include alot and i also had abit of a chesty cough so again i apologise for the breathless sound i didnt realise how bad i sounded till after filming.

Hi Tom. Yes, I think that model manufacturers should produce full trainsets like this. They do make sets, but not so comprehensive as this one.

Hi thanks for watching, it would be good if they brought sets like this out again to attract new people into the hobby even my older hornby sets from the 90s had so much more in them than they do now, thanks for your input. Tom

A peco jubilee is a nice locomotive, and if you are not too bothered by separate handrails is a good model even by current standards. It was first produced in 1969, and was way ahead of its time. They can be picked up on e bay for £ 50, and are great runners. They were made for Peco by Rivarossi.

Hi Martin I'll keep an eye out for one, I like the lms maroon colour and all my n gauge is analogue and mostly over 20 years old so it would fit in with what I have, thanks again for the info. Tom

The old Builteeze range of buildings are still available, being printed on card they go well with the old Farish buildings (and they are very cheap!) You can fret out the windows and glue clear plastic in them, I used the nylon fly-screen netting to provide the frames.

Hi Carl glad you enjoyed the video, I had n gauge when I was younger when I didn't have room for 00 but when I got the space I moved back to 00 but still kept most of my n gauge stuff so hopefully I'll do a little project with it again

Sadly I didn't get my first Graham Farish Train set until 2012 & that was the Merseyside Express. So I missed out on the track mat & buildings that used to come with it. That set in your video looks fantastic mate. Now Graham Farish don't seem to do train sets at all👍

I now it is a shame and a gap in the market I think these sets are good to attract people into the hobby, I'd imagine they'd be alot more expensive nown with todays prices, I did like the look of the merseyside express the loco looked smart, thanks for watching. Tom

Hi Rod it's a project for the future I think once I've collected up the buildings and stuff for it and when I get space, am aiming to build a smaller n gauge layout for now just to run my trains on, but I definitely would like to re create an graham farish track mat layout one day

Wait, mine had Scotsman rather than a merchant navy and it was plastic bodied

In my old catalogue and a few leaflets it does show the scotsman set and there was also an lms coronation class i think, they were great sets in the day and i really think theyd be great for beginners to re introduce them as the buildings would be cheaper than resin buildings and you get everything you need to start a layout, by the time i was old enough to get one they had all sold and graham farish had sold to bachmann, we went to mevagissey model railway in Cronwall in 2001 and they still had loads of farish stock at the time so i ended up with the track mat layout and a load of buildings to make, thanks for watching.
