Tommy's work load is just bizarre. He would go insane if he broke a finger.
@sb7920798 жыл бұрын
He's still got nine fingers mate

I've seen him play with a broken little finger - he just taped it up and carried on. Incredible.

Indeed. On one of his tennesee shows he got his thumb (picking hand) slammed in a car door just hours before he was to do two shows back-to-back .. Cancel ? Not Tommy ! Bandaged it up and played the hell out of both shows with a slightly modified thumbpick

He's so fortunate to have a job that he can't stay away from.

Guthrie Govan! why the comparison? Tom Emmanuel.'s record speaks for itself. An icon of the music industry. You should stop stroking it over melodic soloing. How would he go playing alongside Chet Atkins...

Guthrie Govan blows Tommy away.
@dennisneo16086 жыл бұрын
Guthrie is brilliant, but is he an acoustic guitarist that plays actual self-accompanying musical arrangements? Dude, that's like comparing Steve Vai with Andres Segovia.

Tommy has it all over anybody anywhere. 'lectric or 'coustic! Not to mention his jaw-dropping, one-man-band, live performances around the world and his supreme showmanship. His happy and humble personality and wonderful compositions that will make you laugh and cry. Thru to my 7th decade, I've never encountered anyone as peerless as Tommy. Well, maybe Tiny Tim arf arf

I had never heard of Govan so I listened to several posts of his playing. Your statement about blowing Tommy away has to be the most ignorant one ever on KZbin. He is fantastic at single note electric playing, but he is only a one trick pony. Tommy's playing is much more varied and sophisticated. You must be incredibly biased or deaf.
