This whole song was an homage to Merlin from the movie Kingsmen 2, In the videoclip in the background Merlin has stepped on a mine and he stands firm on it and sings this very same song Take me home, Country Roads to attract the attention of the guards. And when they are close enough he sacrifices his own life for the mission. That is also why Tommy is lighting candles in front of a photo of Merlin. Awesome reaction to an awesome song! Bra jobbat!

Bro, you always make me smile. Feel better soon. I know about getting sore throats, they suck! But you sounded good doing Ring of Fire. lol Love this cover, but it is the first one Tommy's done that didn't dethrone my current favorite cover of it, which is by Home Free (great acapella group if you're not aware). However, Tommy came closer to dethroning them than I thought possible, I like their cover like 1 or 2% better. Only Tommy could do that, believe me. No other covers of this using instruments come remotely close to Tommy's performance, as far as I'm concerned. At the end, I'm 99% sure that was the first bit of Dueling Banjos. Oh my god, if he covers that, or even better, covers it as a duet with a country artist...DUDE, it could f'ing break KZbin.

Not as something to react to, just a recommendation: any genre can be metal or rock and there are, actually some country-related subgenres that are a lot of fun. In general, I'm a big fan of dark country (think of classic country as "Faith, believe, hope. And a Budwiser." Dark Country is more like, "Love, Death, and the Devil. And a good strong Whiskey). Other than that, if you ever had a little love or interest in old Italo Western movies, there are great metal covers of the iconic music on youtube. Megaraptor and Redwest have some damn good covers on their channels, just to name two. And you can't get much better than Ecstasy of Gold in metal but not Metallica (yeah, that one is okay, but there are much better ones). I can only recommend everyone to give it a try, you might find some stuff you'll enjoy more than expected (oh, and to suggest a band: Graveyard Train, with "Ballad for Beelzebub" or "The Sermon", for example).
