+James Cutler Think about the mechanics of what happens when you are inverted and the motion of hitting the drum. Pretty wild stuff; I wish I could try it! I remember reading at the time this tour was in progress (yeah I'm old!) that he had bicycle tow clips on his bass drum pedals to keep his feet anchored to them when he was upside down. As for the solo, what else can you play for an arena of screaming fans other than some loud open figures? Good for him!

And spinning around very quickly while nursing a hangover from the night before, AND after just chugging half a fifth of whiskey. I mean it's fairly impressive on its own, but when you add in the fact that they were all hardcore drug abusing alcoholic train wrecks, then it becomes impressive.

James Cutler ....yes I could.... but I'm not knocking his solo. He's always been a tasteful drummer.

Great drummer, excellent time keeper limited in rudimentary and technical skill but he’s a self taught drummer and a successful person. If you can’t solo why not just spin?

Just so we all get the picture...First, the video will never give it justice but T-always had some dope sounding kits.He has a lot of power and strength in his playing, a really capable rock drummer. The drum solo for him his more of just entertainment for the fans. It's not that he is trying to be all technical. Also, the whole thing with the flips the guys couldn't get but 3 total "laps" on the kit due to cables actually coming out of place or being ripped out,I think 2 forward and 2 backwards ended up being the call. So in between crazy naked chicks, blow and Jack Daniels the goal ended up being "are ya sure...we are not going to over flip"? When all was said and done this tour (Girls) the guys came back home with millions in the account but after paperwork, there was literally millions and millions that was simply gone! Vanished! Unexplainable...or simply just "chalked" up to the party bill! Last, T's kit later on in the years after going back to hang with them for a few short days..." anywhere there's electricity" Tour (maybe...'93 ?) with the Type O Negative guys. T- was then on a DW kit, (grey)...and without a doubt...out of every single kit, I have ever heard (and I work with drum kits for a living) to this very day that was the best sounding kit, I have ever heard! T has forgotten more than many drummers have ever known! That's just the fact of things...and he is a very kind and all around great guy! Peace-God bless-Keep bangin!

say whatever u will but in '87 this was dope as shit!! Nobody was pulling this back then....T-was always a step above the rest in showmanship...and he learned early no ordinary fan other than a drummer cared for all the technical stuff...your average fan simply wants entertainment. that's when most people go piss or grab a beer, but T wanted to keep the fan engaged in the show. It's original for the time, it's a great idea to keep the focus of everyone and it just makes sense. So for all those who don't get that just don't get it...but your not going anywhere on how fancy a player you are at the end of the day it's how can you sale yourself...and you can take this to the bank T can play his ass off...you may not notice that by him keeping in the pocket with Crue tunes and whatnot...but T is a very capable drummer! So the dude isn't overrated...I've heard some of the best producers in the business talk on his power and ability and will tell you he is a phenom for a rock drummer if not the best of rock drummers when it comes to what one needs in a drummer. I dig all kinds of players and have worked with many of them...but for someone to say T is overrated is just clueless.

Wow a lot of Tommy bashers ...Why? Dude is amazing. One of the best concerts I've ever seen. I guess A lot of these people don't play drums and haven't tried to play his beats. Easy to criticize. But a lot harder to sit down and play what he's playing. Fuckin' dude can play not like some technical stupid boring shit like Neal Pert. Mother fucker makes it fun and interesting. So fucking rock on Tommy I've enjoyed your music over the years. Good Times!!

Hey guy, Peart made it all possible, but Tommy is no slob. He rocked that kit upside down, and he has laid down some sick beats for sure, but don't ever underestimate what Tom Sawyer's odd beat ushered in to Rock and Metal, man. Peace
