R.I.P Tommy Rogers a truly underrated wrestler

I always loved it when they just tore in to each other. Very little scripting, just going with the flow.

The great thing about Memphis wrestling was if the promo called for a slap or a punch ,do it don't half ass it. Get the fans to buy into it. R.I.P. Jerry Jarrett.

Heel Dundee is one of the great characters in wrestling history. He was amazing
@jonathanturbide22326 жыл бұрын
Rogé Selig I personally disagree, due to his size he was hard to take seriously as a top heel since he didn’t look like a threat at all. However, babyface underdog Dundee was indeed a legend and one hell of a performer. Much more believable.
@Earpaniac5 жыл бұрын
Jonathan Turbide I agree with you. I’ve seen Dundee in tag matches actually step over the first rope to get in the ring. I could never figure out why he’d do that, especially in JCP. In Memphis his size wasn’t as big of a deal, they always had smaller guys. But in JCP his size definitely stood out, and stepping over the bottom rope just highlighted it.

@@jonathanturbide2232 -but his personality was so great as a heel-it seemed like the real guy-if he would have been built like say Kevin Sullivan, he would have had an even better career

Tommy Rogers would later team with Bobby Fulton and became the Fantastics
@AldenRDavis6 жыл бұрын
Apparently, yes, but both Tommy Rogers and Bobby Fulton became the Fantastics in 1984 after Bobby and Terry Taylor split up as the Fantastic Ones and Bobby Fulton came back to Memphis and then went to Bill Watts’ Mid South, World Class Championship Wrestling and the NWA (National Wrestling Association, Jim Crockett Promotions) and went up against the Midnight Express. In 1989, Bobby later teamed with his younger brother, Jackie Fulton and became the New Fantastics.

Dundee called him racist?
@CollectingCardboard3 жыл бұрын
I truly mean no disrespect, and certainly don't want to "discredit" anyone's accomplishments/achievements/dreams/etc., *BUT* ; with that being said,...is it just me or was Bill Dundee a "hard sell" in believing that he was a " *LEGIT* "...."tough guy"...?!!?! I mean,...in his heyday, the guy stood at a mere 5'7 (at *BEST* !!),...was not a physically-impressive individual, did *NOT* possess an...."intimidating" look/appearance, etc, yet he was *OVER* in virtually every southern territory he worked....?!!?
@Cobra370617 ай бұрын
Dundee was bench pressing 450 pounds in 1983. That is definitely more weight than Lawler and most men ever pressed.
@CollectingCardboard7 ай бұрын
@@Cobra37061 ...and in 1995, standing @ 5' 11,....186 lbs, ...I was throwin up 308....rather "easily". My boy Joey B ...who checked-in @ 5' 5 ...(standing on a 3" phone book)....was throwin' up 420....rather easily,...too! Difference _WAS_ ....he's 5'5 and was steady-stackin Deca & Sust since we were juniors in HS!! Your suggestion is that you're familiar with weight training. If my presumption is to be true, then you're _WELL AWARE_ that the shorter dudes...."have it easier" ....than us average height guys! Additionally,...in the real-world side of things (and as it pertains to the angle of Dundee being 'over' as a [real life] 'tough guy'),... _NOBODY_ ,...and I mean *NOBODY* ....was...."afraid of"...and/or....."scared to step-to"... Joey B.....when we were acting like moronic, knucklehead "tough guys"....in the 90's, @ The Jersey Shore! Point is: *NOBODY* who is testosterone-laden ...in their prime.....prepared to [real world] throw knuckles with another man ...in a "real world, fight"....who stands in @ _SIX FOOT_ (plus or minus a couple of inches)....is going to be...."intimidated".....by someone who's 6-10 inches _SHORTER THAN THEY ARE_ (again; with the consideration that _BOTH_ are of the same/similar relative age, background, etc.) But in the kayfabe world of wrestling,... _HEY_ ! Anything, goes!!...
