Memphis Wrestling was ahead of its time. Leduc cutting himself with that axe was considered hardcore at that time.
@manuelper6 жыл бұрын
Shit, by today's super PG standards, that shit is hardcore. Joe Leduc was terrifying, lol.
@60BloodyChamp604 жыл бұрын
That’s hardcore right now lol

U ever flip through a pwi magazine from back in the 70s and 80s? Hardcore has been around for a long ass time, it just didn't have a name back then. U couldn't flip through any of those magazines without seeing tons of bloody pictures.
@kevinpayton26644 жыл бұрын
@@joselathario I used to read those magazines and you're right, there were a lot of pictures of bloodied wrestlers.
@King4sshole893 жыл бұрын
There's no time period that this isn't hardcore.

3:37 - Awesome reaction from Lance, he sold that incredible segment so well. I'm sure a bunch of people watching at home thought it was fake and funny, but once they saw Lance's reaction they realized it was no joke and Leduc legit cut his arm right there and then. Fantastic way to sell a match.

I saw him do this live on tv. I was 8 years old, I thought he was crazy. But if I remember he did clean Jerry Lawlers clock that monday night.

My fav episodes of Memphis wrestling late 70's!
@Danimal776 жыл бұрын
That's intense and disturbing. There are kids in the audience and the guys slicing open his arms with an axe. No wonder the camera man didn't zoom in.
@trev3586 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it really IS quite disturbing and graphic - ESPECIALLY for something broadcast in the LATE '70S! But enjoyable, nevertheless...

Leduc: People think I’m crazy. Black woman: You are

Joe Leduc is one of the only few characters from the 70's/80's that would have fit in FMW, ECW or CZW.
@jamie.7776 жыл бұрын
85futureshock as crazy as Jos Leduc was he was 10 times the wrestler that a current czw "wrestler" could ever be, they cut themselves about thousand times more, and wrestle in front of tiny crowds for no money. Yes, Jos was a legend...

We moved to Southaven MS (suburb of Memphis) about a week or two after this happened and I was about 10 or 12 years old and did not watch wrestling. But my family dropped off the first load and went back about an hour to get the second load and when we got back our yard ( in SH ) and the front of our street was full of kids because my dad looked just like Joe LaDuc...

Didn't someone think to call the authorities? This man has an axe and is bleeding from his head!!! (Plus he's Canadian.)
@DeeEllEff4 жыл бұрын
Hello, 911? There’s a large man carrying an axe here and he’s bleeding from his head. Wait, by any chance, is he a French Canadian wrestler? Yes, how’d you know? Just call it a hunch...
