Yeah the AI is the weakest part of the game imo, ghillie suits don’t work on them and they can shoot through smoke.

oh man, the MW coop matches are pretty intense, not easy to find a lobby (even back in 2020). for some of those maps, from what i remember, best to have 2 PTFO and the other 2 killin waves. i got into them for the extra story content they added, kept playing because they get crazy sweaty

Just got this game, its ok for some casual bot murder but has a long way to go before its on par with other titles like this.

AI is also my biggest complaint. They're either dumb waiting to be shot standing in the same locations or they one shot you from crazy angles. I know it's on the road map to be improved but as a game tailored to tactical co-op the games appeal hinges on providing decent bots that react like real combatants would. Yes the tacticool Barbie shop is great but it won't keep players coming back like a competitive challenge. My fav map is Compound which has a good mix of open and cqb action.

I enjoy the concept of Ground Branch but it mostly just makes me want another Ghost Recon game in the vein of the original with good production value and all the bells and whistles of a modern fps can bring to the table. I spent many hours playing the Heroes Unleashed mod for GR and it is fantastic for what it is but it’s held back by such an old, primitive engine by today’s standards. Ready or Not though definitely scratches my SWAT 4 itch but it still has a ways to go before I’d put it up there with such a legendary tactical shooter.

There is a mod that adds game modes and there is break out where you have to escape the enemies only using a pistol and you can pick up dead enemies guns too. Try it out

The AI looked pretty brutal and encamped in on the first kill, idk if they're should be better mission planning and a better system to show what exactly your doing and better teammate roles sometimes i feel in the console games the AI teammates annoy you so bad trying to get you to want to quit being there teammates you know, especially in the early days before any updates it's hard to even get through mindless fodder I've found in early days or years of ghost recon.this ai seems more tactically minded

RON is more complete, but just like GB and Zero Hour the ai is the same as GB's. Its hat same aimbot and super human running speed that all the UE4 games seem to share. McDewgle did an amazing video on RoNs ai.

MW coop is boring as hell. It had massive potential, but I dont really see fun in those crazy waves and waves of enemies and bullet spongy juggs. Especially before nerf. I would say that the only good mission was the one on airport (crosswind I think) which allowed you to do first phase stealthy. Otherwise it was pretty lame mindless shooting basically without any purpose or goal. Waves of suicide bombers on that train cargo stop at quarry that was something extremly dumb.

I think you were a little too harsh on this one tbh, at only $30 this game is well worth it and needs more support to finish development. AI for sure needs some work but it's about on par with most brain-dead AI in other games you've covered (Sniper Ghost Warrior comes to mind). The extensive customization (maybe the best in any game besides Tarkov) and great gun feel is worth it alone and with a budding mod community it all comes together to make this game something special

Sniper Ghost Warrior is a sniper game though? I don't think the two compare at all since the idea is to kill your target at range without the surrounding enemies becoming aware of your position. The closer you get, the more imperfections you will see. The difference is, Ground Branch is a tactical shooter and the AI should therefore be more responsive and alert (especially at close range) Right now however, they are just as dumb as the AI in Insurgency Sandstorm which already has good customisation but packs more features into the overall experience with multiplayer, co-op and mod support for less $$$. Ground Branch caters more to die hard tactical shooter fans who already own every game on the market and want more in-depth weapon customisation. I just can't recommend GB over games like Ready or Not or Insurgency Sandstorm to somebody who is only in the market for one of those games.

ready or not doesn't have "advance enemy ai" the ai are just set pieces, that are programed to do one interesting thing once in a while, like hide under bed or hid in closet, when it comes to combat they'll stand back facing the door in the middle of the room with no cover, they also have unnaturally fast reflexes and somehow kill you without aiming their gun, so lets take a few steps back, just because the ai blend well with the map doesn't make them advanced

Thanks but Ready or Not's AI systems are extremely advanced in comparison to Ground Branch and Call of Duty? The only thing CoD has over RoN is scripted AI but when they come out of those scripted mechanics and the AI takes over, you quickly see the imperfections... They just stand around and run to basic cover

Are the AI scripted to be in the same spaces every time? Because I couldn’t tell by the way your friend was talking. It seemed like he knew where they were, but I am guessing that once he snapped his legs, he could look that way, which seems like a bad idea for a tactical game when the dead can see where the enemies are. The mode you were playing didn’t look “fun” in the sense of having a purpose. You were just trying to clear the level, which isn’t bad, but didn’t feel like there was much weight on your shoulders.
