@@trizick5379 they could absolutely do a smaller update for her, and I wouldn't be surprised if they could manage it before Christmas. If they can add unit variants to Greenskins, they can add Ogres and a skill line to buff them to Aranessa. Although, while they're at it, they should make Aranessa's buffs to Sartosa Free Company units global as well.

5.3 a rework to the Geomantic Web, and for them to fix the vassal issue for Warriors of Chaos (for those who don't know, the Norscan Factions with "Tribal Lands" designated to them are supposed to be able to be resurrected, and you're supposed to be able to donate that territory to them to give them a foothold. This is supposed to be a guaranteed method of getting vassals for the Champions of Chaos because their Faction mechanics revolve around having vassals. Currently If the faction has previously been confederated you cannot ever resurrect them, even if the confederating faction has been completely wiped out. Also, I've noticed in a recent play through that a couple of the "tribal lands" aren't appropriately linked and so you cannot donate them to the vassal faction like you're supposed to be able to. My last play though I was unable to resurrect any factions, but I don't know if this was a fluke or not. But the whole think makes me not want to play the Warriors of Chaos, which is a shame because I actually enjoy them the most right now... so I basically just haven't been playing the game...)

@@charlesman8722 I'm not sure it necessarily needs to be a dlc update, but it definitely needs to be a big scope faction rework on the level of the Empire elector count update. I wouldn't expect something of that size to drop before the next dlc. Maybe in the middle between 6.0 and 7.0, but who knows. Norsca also needs a content rework of a similar scope, but with Lizardmen being a base game faction with many DLCs I wouldn't be surprised if they got priority over Norsca.

@@SpiceCh personally I think Norsca really needs a DLC to justify all the things they really need to do to them. Also, The lizard men are more likely to get it in a patch because they have so many DLC's that they're likely not on the docket in the foreseeable future, where as they've said multiple times that Norsca will be getting some attention at some point, so I would expect possibly either the DLC after this, or the next one.

Terradon tier 2 to tier 4 means that the bulding chain starts at tier 2 and ends at tier 4 for normal players (the same as it is right now) while TiqTaqTo gets the final building at tier 3 instead. This means that TiqTaqTo can get Ripperdactyls from minor settlements as well :)

I think that i minor Sartosa Update would be possible. Nothing much, just a few mortal units (carronades, mortars) a reskinned empire witchunter to be a new Sartosan captain hero and a new tech exclusive to Sartosa adding one of those legendary Admirals, but this one is a mortal with a mortal crew

1) Upgrading subfactions with unique units to buff those units (either a global skill like Arkhan the Black or unique building as that subfaction to give buffs to them) and allow allied tech and skill line buffs to affect allied units. 2) Update for Kislev faction mechanic. 3) Make the Geomantic Web more interesting.

1. A land-based equivalent of the ship wreck battles/treasure islands using multiple factions to keep things fresh when you don't have anyone nearby to fight. Battles could be 'escort this caravan' or 'save this town under siege' or 'your scouts uncover a ritual nearby' which could obviously have huge rewards and factional influence. 2. Add a 4th Tier to Ally Outposts to allow their Heroes and Lords to be recruitable. 3. Rework rogue army/pirate armies to be more interesting/rewarding. Bonus: Make Max Schreiber a Legendary Hero since he's the only human who could yield Light, Shadow and Jade magic.

Since this is Warhammer, maybe unlocking the Deeps sometimes requires a Quest-style battle. You have to clear out a mob army of goblins, orcs, skaven, ghouls, or other monsters. The Undercity mechanic, for all factions, could be made more engaging if there was an element of battle that occasionally popped up.

For the caravans I hope they have change the encounters or if not they’ll do it in the future. It’s really boring to always fight against ogres as well as too limited hero selection with us unable to level the heroes you recruit. Getting mages from different races that you can level up would be amazing.

CA secretly ruining my vacation by making me wish I was home with my pc to play this ASAP 😢 If I could pick a single small and "easy" update to 5.3, it would be adding every type of troll to Throgg's unique land mark and changing his skills and faction mechanic to affect them. If I could add a new feature, it would be giving Wulfrik a challenge system to single out legendary lords and defeat them for unique rewards and items, along with an ability to teleport to bodies of water and new, powerful technologies locked behind allegiance milestones. (like the Chosen techs for warriors of chaos) And if I could add unit variants, I would add weapon variants to Black Orcs.

7:00 I'm pretty sure they mean that Terradon buildings from tier 2 to tier 4 have a higher priority for the AI. So the AI will build them more often leading to more Terradons.

I feel like the deeps feature could also work for the Chaos Dwarfs and Skaven. I could see the Skaven for instance being able to build an underway network similar to what the Dwarfs get through their grudges, but maybe at the cost of a lot of population surplus or food to set up a building for that.

You may not have to, sometimes with patches that add new units they’ll appear in an existing file after you play a few turns. Not guaranteed but worth trying, it worked for me when new the SoC units that got added last year

As you said, no notes, I’m just plain happy to see Warhammer in a good place right now. Rogue Trader was an amazing 40k game, the old world was revived, Warhammer 3 is now getting the love it deserves, my favorite faction (dawi) has finally reached perfection, and Space Marine 2 is coming out soon! I’ve always preferred fantasy, but I just love Warhammer in general, and it sure is a great time to be a Warhammer fan right now. Hope everyone’s day is going well :)

My entire top 10 is lizardmen updates, but I think lizardmen would do well with a mechanic similar to the deeps or undercities but for the geomantic web. It should be buildable in non lizardmen settlements as well, so you don't have to kill your friendly neighbor to bolster the web. I also think the web should have a dedicated resource that it generates for boosts, powerful abilities, and blessed units.

1 Better pathing and responsiveness for units. Why can't they stand on a ledge and fire down? Or have to be extremely microwed to work? Or calvary getting stuck on goblins?! Biggest one for me. A lot of units are an absolute pain in the ass to use. 2nd more varied maps. In a perfect world, the terrain on the global map match the area on the map. I know that isn't easy, but just add more maps in general. Multistage sieges for special capitals and overall siege rework.

Top 3 things for 5.3 : - Egrimm van Horstmann as FLC LL for Tzeentch, to have a second real LL for tzeentch. Since Nurgle has 3, it's only fair - Making the changelin into a real campaign that we can actually lose, to get to 3 real LL like Nurgle. - Tzeentch Rework. Remake the tech tree from the ground up, same with the unholy manifestations and make the changing of way into a mecanic that actually impact the game. Example : if you force two factions to go at war, they can make peace for a while and their AI will actively try to wipe each other. Same for forcing peace, it should come with a non-agression pact. And bring back blocking whole factions.

=> im eager to check the 20 new unusual locations in the files, especially as a big fan of kislev-ostankya (when coming back to old world) => and checking all cults + all 3 uniques underway (in skavenblight / 8pics / nagrund) => my main 3 stuffs: - grave guard with halberd - vampire coast and tomb kings: IMPORT WH2 campaign narrative IN WH3 (and do same for chaos dwarf at same time) OR add new mechanics for cylostra / aranessa / khatep / khalida mainly - make siege great again combined with battle ai (+ more unusual locations ! perhaps some changing siege battle map)

So the Deeps is like an Undercity, but you only perform it on yourself. I really wanted the games to reflect multiple layers of a major city. I know Cathay just got some goodies but I would like to see a great bastion mini update, it just feels weird Yuan Bo does not have the bastion threat mechanic (but can somehow still reduce the threat with the great compass). Quest battles similar to Malakai to defend the bastion when the threat level reaches 100 would be epic

As a skaven enjoyer. I'm alarmed and concerned at the lack of both Skreech Verminking and Thanquol LL's along with some skaven system reworks in this patch. These things have not been mentioned and I'm beginning to believe that in the orcs, ogres and khorne DLC that the focus will not be the superior species. Very concerning. 8/13 score for this patch

Phoenix court for the high elves (similar to the Chaos dwarf mechanic). There is a brilliant mod that adds this in, but they should add it into the base game. Makes the high elves much more interesting to play.

Also - Level 60 lords limit (up from 50). Not as fun once you get a general / LL up to 50 and he's maxed out with loads of the campaign still to go. 60 is a really good balance - the level 60 lords mod works great for this, but it should be part of the base game. Also, remove the character traits limit completely, so that the campaign always feels alive - I don't wany to avoid killing an enemy LL in order to avoid getting a trash trait, when it goes towards a limit, which is something they could easily fix by just removing the limit. The ability to de-mount in battle would also be great (the mount could just be removed from the battle once you make the decision to de-mount). A Lord on a horse is facing off against an anti-large unit(s) - he should be able to de-mount before fighting them (one time battle ability, so once you de-mount, that's that). Doesn't need animations - could just switch the models.

I want them to go make some changes for Kislev for patch 5.3. Basically what you talked about in your kislev video, I want that. I think it would go a very long way of making Kislev feel better to play between the seperate factions, and make them feel more fully fleshed out.

Overall, this is excellent and opens so many opportunities. The new locations thingy is my favorite of the additions. More of that. Some Change Suggestions for the Future: Delete Menace Below from the game (or, more realistically, make sure it and other ARMY ability summons can only be used outside of a certain distance from the enemy), which might make me not desire to just autoresolve Skaven battles. Unit upgrade paths where relevant (especially for Bretonnia) using the Warband system from the Warriors of Chaos (but much more restricted). Make Murderous Prowess/Mastery not garbage. Make Martial Prowess/Mastery an ability that is only active when fighting to the front of the unit (so a single model turning around after the unit is flanked wouldn't get Martial Prowess, just like in 8th Edition) but get rid of the HP threshold (which is uninteractive and bland). Punish those High Elves for getting flanked/blobbing. Other stuff too, but eh. Ivory Road is still bad like this, though better. Not being able to level up heroes or have wizards will still be a serious problem. We'll have to see how it plays out, and see if it is able to be used in the mid to late game, which wasn't really possible before. Unit Wishes: Black Ark Fleetmaster FLC, please. Or Spearsairs (Anti-Large for Lokhir, please). Oh. Armoured Kossars with Spears from the Tutorial Campaign (not, technically, as needed now with Warriors, but...)

5.3 New feature: Faith feature for the Empire. Sigmar/Ulric/Morr etc... Like corruption feature, but its faith, and some units like flagelletns are stronger in higher Sigmar faith areas, whereas units like Knights of Morr are stronger in Morr areas. New variant, Marauder Champions with Glaives or Halberds for Norsca.

Now what we need is: - Total siege rework (again) - New minor and major settlement maps - Better battle ai (now that campaign ai should be fixed!) - Daniel / Daemons of Chaos fix - More skills / skill tree reworks and fixes so that you can't just get everything and actually have to make decisions in the strategy game

Given how people praise Pharaoh's battle AI, I wouldn't be surprised to see them attempt to work that into Warhammer down the line. But most of the changes people want to see will be gradual and require plenty of back and forth of feedback and tweaks. The community wanted siege maps, so we got them. Then the community wanted minor siege maps, so they got them. Then the community wanted less of them, so now we rarely get to see them in game anymore. It's a gradual process of refinement that'll probably continue for years to come.

If they do all this well, I’ll consider this game a successful actual successor to warhammer 2. Idk why more people aren’t paying attention to this stuff that literally impacts the base game and benefits everyone, not just pleasing the short term with paid dlc and units. There is a lot they need to address but I worry they will stall it out and maybe only do it partially when a dlc race is involved

@@TrapsterJ i dont get why people keep being doomers at this point. Everyone said CA would leave the game after the botched launch. Then everyone said they'd leave the game after Ogres released. Then it was after immortal empires released. And then it was after shadows of change. And then everyone sent death threats to CA and acted like the company was the bad guys when they deleted forum posts and told the toxic trolls and their ringleader (lttw) to shove it. And then CA was *definitely* going to leave the game. And then the content update for SoC happened but CA were definitely still screwing the customers. And then thrones happened but CA were definitely still leaving the game any day and were definitely still greedy. Like Jesus Christ, do you guys really have nothing better to do with your lives? Have all you people had a collective stroke and forgotten how WH2 used to be shit at launch and took 5 years to polish into the game it is today? It's like Legend fans the doomer flames every time he needs a short term cash injection from viewer interactions and people just eat it raw because his fans are more interested in having something to burn down than something to play. It's fucking annoying and makes the community worse for everyone else.

@@SpiceCh How is it being a doomer when having an expectation for a working, engaging and fun game is a hard ask? I’m more annoyed at the management of CA for their projects to get to treated they way have because clearly there’s some upper management greed or incompetency that have trickled down into their ability to design their games. In a time where sequels and remakes are being released merely for the name sake and short term hype as opposed to being an actual full, new addition to a series, I think it’s completely rightful and frustrating that content updates in the past have had questionable quality and motives. Being blindly optimistic or blindly pessimistic about the future of the game when it’s not even the players fault for making it that way is hardly gonna help the situation. Holding them accountable and setting things straight for both player and developer is the only way things happen. Sitting back, saying nothing and pretending everything is fine isn’t going to do anything constructive. I don’t need to play like Legend to see issues that consistently appear and take the immersion or ability to play optimally out for me. To assume that all people with still requests and goals for the game should just be happy with what they’ve got and shut up is just completely dismissive and ignorant of clearly a sizeable community who won’t be bought over just by clear material content like faction DLCs with units and legendary lords. Sieges are wack, clumps of units are STILL lagging behind because a single entity is caught up other side of the map, the amount of micromanaging in the game to try make things work you want them to and not knowing why they’re not working as they should is too apparent to ignore at times. These are at least most common in discussions for me. Exploits are just treated like memes as opposed to being dealt with the next patch after being mentioned. It seemed there was no legacy team for the games lifespan that even bothered to acknowledge these existed. At least now we have a degree of transparency for it, but otherwise we have no idea if they know what the most pressing bugs or issues of the game are besides the ones they actually mention, we just have to hope messages in the forums are actually amounting to something. Taking 5 years to make a game “polished” after release is a shocking idea just in theory anyway, why is it not crazy to declare you are the ones who are the mad, who lap up broken content and gladly wait 5 years? Why not just have it work as intended on release? That’s an ideal world privileged only by hindsight, I know, but if in those 5 years, especially for this game, not WH2, half that 5 year time was spent wasting customer money and time on broken DLC, and having the base game itself be unplayable for some mechanics and factions (particularly the new ones), I’m just supposed to be patient and trust the process, when I’ve hardly got anything to work with to think that will be the case? I don’t think people like myself are really asking a lot. I will still play the game, and for the most part enjoy it. Maybe in the future it will be complete and everything is settled and its lifespan for Warhammer games will live on, superior to its predecessors. But at the moment it isn’t perfect, and while there are changing tides that make it look more promising like these patch notes, as far as I’m concerned there’s always more to improve on. Simply admitting that, to me, is more constructive and when I can see things in my campaigns that were once unfun and glaring become fun and competent, then over time, it will be clear that they’re prioritising the right things and committed to making a good game, not selling out and leaving it in a poor state like those people you say have been that way. I’m hopeful they will stick with the game because it seems like a no brainer with its popularity, and there’s clearly still more dlc, map and source material to work with. What’s wrong with consistency?

Realistically will it ever actually be worth using goblins with swords? No one is gonna be dealing any damage with goblins anyways so trading melee defense for melee attack with them seems just bad but idk, maybe my play style is just more defensive so I always just use spears when available over swords rly

i want ground level campaign stuff. new mechanics for across the board stuff. i want religion mechanics for ursun/the lady/sigmar/the elven gods/the kislevite gods/gork and mork, etc. it could work like corruption, but not affect the land, and really just give any factions that actually pay heed to those gods buffs to units, buffs to infrastructure, etc. in addition, it'd be a more direct way to combat chaos corruption. it could also maybe have an element of competition--imagine ulric and sigmarite worshippers not only having access to slightly different units, but having some kind of religious competition mechanic, like a better version of what kislev has. i want food mechanics like the ones in historical total wars. I want to have to feed my troops, and my citizenry, and to be scared of daemons and undead which do not require food. only sacrifices to be made. different factions might have slightly different food mechanics, and many could be better at getting food than others. Ogres obviously would have buildings with herds of great beasts to be eaten, but also get LOTS of food from battles. Orcs and gobbos could eat their enemies but also have tons of fungi and squig meat type buildings, and maybe those are more available in mountains. You could tie things like farms to certain biomes, and fungus harvesting to mountainous regions, and the desert might be sparse and nearly foodless, which the tomb kings dont have to worry about, and nor do the daemons and vampires (though maybe some mechanic for feeding your vampire heroes and lords blood, that's not quite food and you aren't feeding as many--but the idea of a blood tax mechanic for vamps is super fun) this would work as an additional incentive to stay in the proper biomes, but also an additional fun challenge for going outside of them. Humans might have to invest heavily in farms to be able to supply food to a mountain region they take, which has a mine of gems--which brings me to my next point. trade resources need to be made a MUCH bigger deal. i want trade resources to be used for units, buildings, and crafting. They should be gathered like gold in amounts, and spent. It would make diplomacy and trade more interesting, it would make army and city management more interesting, and would make deciding where to go/settle more interesting. as it is, trade resources barely matter unless you have a crafting system or other specific mechanic that actually uses them. speaking of crafting, I think every faction should have a crafting mechanic. Make it so that you no longer get magic items by just "finding them" in battles, where they appear out of thin air, but instead must be created utilizing gold and resources. Let all the factions craft the generic items, and only certain ones crafting rarer ones that are associated with specific factions. And then make it so that you have a chance to steal them like now, but instead of an item appearing out of nowhere, you actually can TAKE an item someone else has made. Let dwarves and tomb kings keep the stuff they have now, and just let them be better at it than basically everyone else and add to it. also keep item salvaging--hell maybe make using low tier items to make high tier items part of it. if you wanna get really fancy, make item crafting require a building, and then you have to use that specific building to "recruit" (build) magic items, like how you produce units.

1: I really hope they update a few older characters to make them fit better with what the game currently has to offer, although a lot of these work better as later additions along with dlc admittedly. Making Aranessa a misc /dogs of war faction who has access to pirates, some ogre units, and either possibly upcoming dogs of war or at least more reskins of other units would be great. Making Sigvald a part of slaneshes faction instead of warriors of chaos as their mortal lord. And obviously move Belakor into Demons of Chaos. 2: Fixing diplomacy, especially making confederation easier/sensible. I don't want to be number 5-1 power, outnumber a fellow X faction 10-1, have 100+ diplomacy, and STILL not able to confederate them. High Elves and Lizardmen come to mind. Hell could even see AI being able to confederate more easily also fun. 3: Giving some of the prior lords a new mechanic or two, doesn't have to be anything big but for example Skrulk with plagues or I could even see Queek with a smaller bootleg warriors of chaos mechanic being fun. At least for more martial skaven infantry like Clanrats and Gutter runners. 4: Finally a bit of a departure/more extreme, but getting an flc lord or hero during bigger updates like these could be fun. For Lords or Heroes they want to add but can't justify a dlc for.

1.in future patch remove level cap from Lords ans heroes. 2.have like dwarfs with all factions.have away to get defeat Lords and heroes when faction is defeated even if you have to fight quest battle to get them or reach a certain requirements to get them to confederate with you.

Honestly this is fcking great :D WH3 gets treated like it deserves to be treated now. Its a fantastic setting and a great game. If they continue like this it will be awesome and rounded up in the end, which I am still not sure about but optimistic now. There is still a lot to tweak (engame scenarios, sieges, (navy battles (pleaaase :D)), further AI changes and for me most importantly the gameflow past turn 30 and ofc. content additions like new units, reworked and new mechanics. If thats done I think it might become the best TW till now in my eyes. I am very happy and probably will buy DLC now alone for the reason I want to support them. I also really like how updates are coming regularly and them giving indepth information so it finally feeld like devs and community going hand in hand to bring wh3 to a legendary status. Keep up the good work CA!

I might be the black sheep here, but I’d rather have Engrimm in a DLC. 1. Sarthorael the Ever-Watcher as FLC for Tzeentch, with an updated model, and give him mechanics similar to the Changeling but he’s only able to disguise his army on the campaign map. I like characters made by CA as it expands the lore, and like I said I want Engrimm in a DLC; he deserves more. 2. Geomantic Web Update 3. New Units: Black Orcs (Shields), Black Orcs (Dual Weapons), Ironguts (Ironfists) or Crushers (Ogre Pistols), and Marauders of Khorne (Great Weapons)

Sotek, you can have wizards in your caravans (and other heros :D ) that can level up ;) you just need to have the hero near the spot where the caravan starts and then attach the hero to the caravan like you do with a normal army (at least it worked like in the past/from the beginning of WH3 :D)

They deactivated it for both Chaos Dwarves and Cathay, which I found kind of strange, but maybe they felt it messed with the balancing of the caravans or something about the wizards upkeep when the caravan disappears.

I hope they get rid of the requirements for the weapon crafters commune entirely. Or at least buff the weapon crafters commune. It's bad enough that you need that building (or other requirements I guess) to recruit maybe one or two extra units in a province, but it's even worse that the weapon crafters commune barely does anything. +1 Recruitment rank for units and an extra recruitment slot doesn't seem worth sacrificing an entire building slot. I hope they just remove those requirements entirely and then make the weapon crafters commune similar to the star chamber but instead of providing levels to slann they provide levels to other lord types. And maybe provide a recruitment buff of some kind instead of the income bonus. I guess for balance they could make it that you can only build either a star chamber or a weapon crafters commune in a province.

FISHMEN! 😛 More seriously: 1 Give existing factions new mechanics, perhaps sticking to giving a race's mechanic to a faction outside the race. E.g. bloodletting for grimgor, plague brewing for Clan Pestilens, maybe Changing of the Ways for Crooked Moon tribe. I'd also say to also do the reverse and give Grom's Cauldron to the ogre race too, but nurgle's mechanic is basically grom's cauldron and I'm not sure I'm big on 2 races having the same mechanic like that. 2 Make Green Knight a summon that every army can use instead of an embedded hero 3 Make krell a hero you embed in an army, complete with his own skill tree. Also adjust Kemmler's skill tree to account for the fact Krell isn't a summon anymore.

Units for Greenskins make me a little worried. Next DLC has an Orc LL, so why now? Are they downsizing DLC and its excuse: "but we give you stuff outside DLCs now!"? Are they still in "apology mode" after SoC? I know it's paranoid, but I lost my faith in CA some time ago, and any pro-consumer action they perform makes me go "they are up to something".

So excited I love that the dwarfs are getting even more love even after some folk said they where done for good. I just love everything they are adding! I would like to see dwarfs with spears to be honest.
