Tomos 74cc Café Racer - Complete assembly

Assembly of the 74cc moped with brand new parts. The second-last episode in the Tomos 74cc Café Racer series! Final episode will be live soon. While tuning the bike, I ran into crankshaft bearing issues twice. Perfectly shimming new L17 bearings, few kilometers riding later and radial play comes knocking on my door. Conversion from L17 bearings to solid 6203 ones will be done and a final build overview & riding episode will follow. Stay tuned!

@@enej786 thanks! I bought a registered Revival. didn't know the frames are exactly the same! yes, there are people in other countries that modify them aswell! in the Netherlands Tomos mopeds and the custom builds are becoming increasingly popular. I love it :)

Nice job, turned out great. I got a really cool barn find, it's Magneet Globemaster frame,rear wheel, fuel tank and front forks. It's rusty but the frame and fuel tank are very sound. Parts for this in Australia are almost non existent, so I'm thinking a cafe racer style. Any thoughts on the type of engine I should put in it. I would love to put a Sachs motor in it but they are so hard to find here, so a more modern motor will have to do. What do you think?

Exhaust change can be done if its not too loud and the max speed that's allowed is 45kmh. Of course this build ticks all these boxes ;)

Hello. Just wondering what the top speed you got out of the tomos? And what crank and cylinder did you use? I have an atx50 5 speed engine and frame was considering building it into a tomos dm GP style bike but am undecided. Too many projects. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've not measured the top speed. It has a puch airsal 74cc monza cylinder and a rito crankshaft. Just do a project you feel like you need to do ;)

Gaaf man, ik ben nu wel een tikkie jaloers, maar heel gaaf. Zelf vind ik het tomos frame wat kort voor een caferacer, hoe sta jij daarin? Ik zat voor mezelf te denken aan een verlengde achterbrug zodat het wiel en het zadel verder naar achteren kunnen. Ik denk dat dat bij flexer en 4l frames goed kan.

Thanks! Het is wat klein, vooral omdat ik zelf bijna 2 meter ben, maar de verhouding vind ik mooi van het originele frame. Nu passen de tank en het zitje in een mooie lijn vanaf het stuur. Ondanks dat het wat aan de kleine kant is zit ik er wel lekker op en ziet het er ook niet raar uit. Ik denk dat de verhouding wel goed is, maar het is aan jou of je de achterbrug o.i.d. langer maakt of niet. Je kan alle kanten op en dat is juist het leuke aan custom builds!

@@valentinogernaert7129 is niet zo makkelijk als het lijkt. motorophanging moet 10mm breder, boutgaten komen niet overeen en achterbrug ook niet. daarnaast is de aandrijfas met tandwiel een stuk breder. misschien helpt dit met het overwegen van je keuze!
