I normally use a cordless grinder, too much hard work using a saw.

....or wrap a piece of cardboard or paper around til the edges meet and use a marker for a square edge? I cut with and angle grinder fitted with a fine cut blade, chamfer with a coarser blade and deburr with a stanley knife... Works for me.

best to just use a blunt-ish hand saw. much more accurate than a hacksaw ;-)
