Seen jointing compound used in an old cleaned out fluxuator dispenser. Helps stop bits of debris getting in your compound and it stops you getting it all over your fingers. Especially if you've got some soldering to do, helps not to have grease going everywhere.

Great Tom, fantastic to get an update on your current situation👍👍 I hope your Wife’s health improves. Without question you were a forerunner in the KZbin Plumbing Videos malarkey, always insightful & very informative. These days you’d be classed as an ‘Influencer’ & get loads of freebies. Rumour has it that some of these guys are making a fortune & most couldn’t put a Nut in a Chimps mouth!!! I’m pleased you’re enjoying your retirement, Plumbing & Heating is a fabulous career, but it’s hard on the body, so stay healthy & enjoy yourself. By the way, Tom runs one of the best Forums for Plumbing & General stuff. So come & join us. We enjoy a laugh & a whinge, not taking things too seriously. All the best Tom. Yer old mate. Wow thanks for the comments guys, I did't realize folks still looked in, I don't do much anymore because, 1 there are some very good plumbing video's on here now and the youngsters use better technology and are more entertaining plus, they know more than me of new fangle dangle stuff and 2. My videos are old skool and much of it is gone and lost now, But I will make a video of a top I did last week and how I struggled doing a simple job of changing taps for a mate, see you soon Tom

Yes, what about the difference in spanner size? You can’t tighten a metric fitting with an imperial spanner 🔧
@DianaVillarreal-w2e Жыл бұрын
It worked thank you God bless you!
@markanthony3275 Жыл бұрын
Just get a punch of the same inner diameter of the pipe ,with a tapered nose, and push it carefully into the pipe to get it "round enough" , Then if you have to, give the fitting you are putting on, a little squeeze with slip joint pliers to match the slightly out of round pipe. Not perfect, but what if you have little room to work with?

I tend to disagree also. I’ve literally got back from a job this evening where I came across imperial pipe and I had to use a imperial to metric coupler as I couldn’t get a 15mm olive or nut over the imperial pipe. It was measuring nearly 16mm in diameter so no chance was I getting a 15mm on it.
