I think I'm on the bigger is better fence when it comes to a sat nav, been able to see more of the road layout ahead etc etc. I'll be going in for my practical side of things in the next few months. pretty sure I'll be buying a TomTom as they always seem to come out on top, that's based on the many reviews I've researched in regards to many different makes and models. whilst they may be slightly expensive, if you break that down over the number of days you'll be using it, literally pennies or less per day.

Just bought a 7” after watching your previous videos, mine has the search option in top left so I guess it’s a new feature across the board. Something I’ve noticed from this video. I have my side bar set at narrow and if you press on the icons it gives you info but no distance to that point, I see by having the side bar wider the distance is displayed so I will be changing that in the morning. Also have you tried “My Drive” on your phone? I use it to find my destination by typing in the address then zooming in to the exact point and dropping a pin then just “send destination” and it syncs to my sat nav.

issue is with smaller if you need to look a the satnav well driving the 7 inch is clearer and easier to spot things on we're as the 5 inch is onna take more concentration and more time looking

a long time ago me and dad picked up a tomtom go classic 6in and going from a normal tomtom to a 6in was amazing now i do not use it as my car has built in satnav but when i get my trucking licence i will start using it again in till i can get a go expert

Hi Luke. Good video, thanks for giving your review. Have you ever used Garmin? Only reason I’m asking is because I’ve been using a truck specific DEZL 7” for the past 7 (maybe 8) years and it’s really showing its age so needs replacing. I’m impressed with the way TomTom seems to work but I’m concerned at switching brands purely out of familiarity. I know each brand has its pro’s & con’s, but the one thing I really dislike about Garmin is the lack of app/website support and its sometimes laughable routing options. I think I have the best sat nav, so long as I tell it where to go - like every road along the way!! It happily takes through small town centers in an artic, rather than using the nicely routed bypass… Is the TomTom better in you honest opinion? If so, I’ll use your link to order one. I have used the 6250 for several years now, its great, apart from the map colours; they fade out unless I tilt the satnav backwards. Ive tried all the settings and even contacted tomtom about it but that was basically a waste of time.

I bought an expert 7 for my new job and it’s faulty. It keeps going to sleep because power is interrupting. The connection between the cable and the cradle is loose. I’ve tried to contact TomTom via support and no one is getting back to me. I need to return/exchange this but have no one to talk to, I need this for my job. Very disappointing customer service

now it is 7 months is I use the 7inch which is a very good really satnav. one thing that annoyed me about it which is the connection. after less than 20 days of use, the USB was loose and was coming out. after a month of emailing and discussing with TomTom finally they send me a new connection. but no point because that would be the same again. the point it the design of the connection is inappropriate. they told me I do not have to connect and disconnect the connection every day. the question is so why it is not designed permanently. after all, I am happy with the map and the satnav except the mount.

Problem with TomTom is that they gone mad with pricing everything. It's like micro transactions. Would be nice if they provide a bundle with everything on it for a fixed price

Looks like your struggling to say something positive about this device other than it’s smaller and you can see more of the windscreen, still we await the more detailed reviews. I hope they have sorted out some of their atrocious mapping directions for artics.

Good review Luke. I have the 6250 and to be honest has never let me down. Easy to use and setup. Although I try not rely on a satnav all the time, and still prefer to use a map to plan routes for the longer journeys and use the satnav to help me when closer to the destination.

The only thing about adding in a dashcam feature is it eats up the battery and runs much hotter. I have a snooper and it's old but never let's me down. My friend had snooper with dashcam and it was always very hot and battery was not lasting any amount of time when unplugged from charger. I'm thinking about upgrading too a tomtom as my snooper is that old there is no more map updates available for it. I don't need satnav much but it handy for time too time.

Never ever buy tomtom hgv satnav's. I've just had to return my tomtom hgv satnavs as they are crap & dangerous to use. I returned my pro + because its sent me down a 6,6 restricted road & kept crashing & leaving the screen blank which nearly caused an accident. Apparently the halfords store I returned it to said that several hgv drivers have returned them due do faults.

I like the UI design of TomTom units. Looks really nice and clean. But around where I am Garmin gets me places, TomTom does not. Works fine in the larger cities but otherwise it’s hit and miss. Haven’t used a TomTom in a couple of years so maybe it has changed.

Other than stating the obvious of the appearance and contents of the box, and then proceeding to sell this to your viewers, the only positive if that's what you want to call it was that its smaller???? I'm a tom tom user of 20 years. They have been making tom Tom's this small since the beginning.... so when I clicked the video with tom tom upped their game, could you tell me how, where and what is so ground breaking about this model? No speak of the specs, processor, memory, speed. No technical info whatsoever. How much faster compared to the previous model and such? If anyone owned the trucker 6000 they will know the pain of the slow processor and use my drive on the phone to pre plan routes then send the destination to the tom tom device. Can this tom tom still use my drive? Is it needed? Worst sales pitch ever. I think truckers should stick to 🚚 ing.

I don't really see anyone slating Lukes review par say. Just that to anyone even with minimal experience of driving commercial vehicles would tell you, a 5" screen is crap when comparing it to a 7" one. Luke tried his best as their Brand Ambassador to put on a brave face, but it was plain to see how he really felt about it. Well unless you're blind that is. Finally and i'm sure most agree, yes TomTom is the market leader, but giving a commercial driver a 5" screen to promote when they do a 7" version and know he already has that size sat nav, is just stupid on their part.

I bought a Tom Tom years back and it was so dreadful that I threw it. The damn thing lost all the maps and refused to download any updates. I now have Garmin and what a difference, it constantly updates the maps without a computer, can find companies and venues, places of interest and warns me if there are cameras, or I've gone over the speed limit and it displays the speed of the road. I had none of this with Tom Tom.

I disagree- tomtom is without doubt the worst navigation ever. I just got a 2023 RAM and discover they put tomtom in the ram. I am disgusted and wish the absolute worst for whoever put this crap in my truck. I thought tomtom died 23 years ago and just to keep it nice- i flat hate it totally and completely.
