For the dilemma: you're not an adult because you're 21, you're an adult because you're responsible and mature enough to "go against" some of your parents decisions and be ready for the consequences Also, you're not an adult overnight so they're not going to change their behaviors overnight either! It comes with some patience :)

To me manifestation is basically another version of writing down your goals and what you want to achieve and then putting in the work for it
@glenglen99583 жыл бұрын
I agree, I also think people should make smart goals that are achievable to them as the acronym goes Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and time based. As if you set goals that are unrealistic or unattainable it becomes so difficult to achieve them and then you feel as though you aren’t achieving anything, whereas when you achieve one task or one goal at a time you feel more accomplished and able to set harder and higher goals .

I think this is the biggest struggle for a lot of people. Social media has made it easy and magnified the 'lifestyle' brand. It's never one thing that leads to success, it's the accumulation of small things that enhances your brand.
@glenglen99583 жыл бұрын
Agreed the socially curated and perfected lifestyle is so damaging, as you feel that your not doing enough and you compare and critique yourself. It was easier to appreciate hard work before social media when the results weren’t flaunted in your face without the process. In reality you do not see the struggle, time, sacrifice and effort it takes to get the lifestyle portrayed on social media, that comes with the lure of the media as nothing is unedited, imperfect or sad.

Absolutely - it's all about accumulation ✅

You both made a lot of great points and see things from a fresh perspective. In my opinion, I don't believe in the manifestation of things unless it's tied to believing/having faith in Christ. And even then you can still work hard and try but it's ONLY God that can make it happen. Sometimes a person can be trying with everything they have and be talented at what they do, but it may not be in God's timing for them. Working hard is the stepping stone like you said it helps someone know how to keep something they've been given by God whether it be a career, job, or anything important. So it's not always about working hard, it's all pointless without God there with you. Great video you both are so smart and beautiful.

@michellemzee73523 жыл бұрын
100% agree. I honestly don't believe manifestation (in the context of the law of attraction and New Age bc that's really what they and popular culture are talking about) has anything to do with God. It works outside of his will and puts all the focus on what you can achieve for yourself through your own power. Even in the context of prayer, the focus then becomes on the prayer itself and how well or how much you pray. Just have faith in God and allow him to be sovereign in your life, as hard as that is when you're struggling, just push through with him, and you'll be okay.

Loved this episode so much - especially the discussion on balancing faith and work! I find often times people who preach manifestation (minus the work) don't talk about their access, privilege and connections to attaining success. So outsiders can easily be bamboozled into thinking their success is solely a result of manifestation.

I agree impart with your discussion; a concept I live by is: Teach Them to Reach Them Still seeing from the outside doesn't equate what is on the inside. Thus we have to be very mindful of what we hear, see, follow and careful not to jump on the bandwagon with folks in the spot light saying this is right, when in fact it is not, for wrongs will never be right, bad can never be good This is why all things and everyone has to be looked at from the supernatural (the spirit) for not everything and everyone is of the fruit of the spirit The Bible, the good book of truth in purity of the word of God states; we shall know them by their fruit.. Matthew 7:16-20, and an apple tree doesn't bear oranges. Thus ones character, conduct, conversation needs to always be in alignment with God's words, rules, laws, statutes, principles, precepts, ordinances, judgements, commandments, and promises as to get the manifestation of the key of the Kingdom of God. Yes if I believe in faith and heart is clean of any unrighteousness; then whatsoever I asked in the Name of Christ to the Father, God; it will be given, that which is His Will unto me. For these are few words of Scriptures I keep nigh to as to walk in the ways of God through knowledge, understanding, instructions, faith, obedience, love, acceptance..... Proverbs 3:5-8, 14:12, 16:25, 19:21, 18:21, 28:13,.. Psalm 1, 23, 19:14, 66:18...; 1John 1:9; Matthew 7:20

I'm not saying "manifestation" I'm saying "visualization" so I know that it is all in my head, my imagination until I put in the work! Manifesting is kinda explained like it's an action whereas it's only wishes, believes and ideas. I try to visualize what I want, what I need in order to work more efficiently 😊

I've learnt so much from this episode! Manifestation has been a touchy subject for me because as you guys touched on sometimes you can try as hard as you can to think something into reality and it just doesn't work so you assume that you're doing something wrong/you're the problem. Then you consume so much information to try and compensate for this, when in reality hard work plays a huge role! As you said at the end, it's difficult because I still believe that manifestation has some truth (Belief = Gas, Hard work = Car) but sadly mani influencers have commercialised the Law of Attraction and are profiteering off of an unrealistic ideology where anything you want can become reality. Amazing episode!! I can't wait for the influencer one

I believe that just as we have seasons in the year, people have seasons too. Each season is meant to teach you valuable lessons and mold you to eventually become the best version of yourself. The version of yourself that God needs you to be, to fulfill his purpose on this earth. Oftentimes, social media shows everybody's SUMMER!!! So if you are in your winter season and you rush to your summer season then you're essentially being fake. Now it's all about ACTING like you are it instead of BEING it! Also I believe if you go to Genesis 1:1-5, you'll see how manifestation works. Love your videos ladies💕 I'm HERE for it!!!!Keep it up;your podcasts are very insightful!🥰

Very impactful conversation. In my personal experience, I’ve taken Mark 11:24 “Whatsoever ye desire, pray believing you have received it and it shall be given unto you” as a very serious promise. And what I’ve seen is that in some instances I’ve had to put in work for things, but even in the frustration of something going wrong in the process I’m usually quick to get over it because I know it is done as God has promised. With this faith comes the inevitable push to work on oneself ... you’ve ought to persevere, become more patient, learn how to master your emotions ... thus you gain self mastery when you take up this kinda belief/faith, which at times then does make it seem like things are easy for you because you just know how to manage your emotions better than before. People would describe me as a hard worker but to me it didn’t feel like that for 80% of the things because my countenance was that of gratitude for the now and the desired end. Some instances I’ve asked believing I’ve received it and it’s handed to me through a series of events and people, to where I don’t even have to do anything. I’m talking serious money and vacations from friends, family friends, specific debt being paid off etc. My final little nugget from my experience is: focus on the character building/self mastery, do what you gotta do for your goals, it’ll make the journey more rewarding.

the point that was made about perfectionism and being the best on the first try really resonated to me as someone wanting to work in the creative industry when i try screenwriting and filmmaking i feel like a fake. coming across this is so 👏 damn 👏 timely 👏 . it's hard not to get influenced when everyone is presenting 'manifestation' as a sure path to get the things we want. it makes us forget to look at the deeper reasons why we wanted to manifest these things in the first place.

Thank you for this. I watched this at the perfect time. I recently fell into the hype of manifestation and it came back to bite my ass. To be fair, I did my part and I just had to wait for a reply from the other end. So all I had to sit on was hope and faith. And yet, it fell through. Looking back, I was rushing matters on so many counts and while I'm more lost than I was when I started I'm also more clear on some matters. I honestly fell so hard for the manifestation rhetoric. I watched all these youtube videos and even bought my first crystal...damn...you grow and learn. It hurts that much more knowing that all those videos were bullshit. At times we just have to be comfortable with the uncertainty of our lives rather than searching for something so much deeper to keep us from the fear of life's big "NO".

Manifestation to me is like having a vision. It is very important in that, once you can visualise something, you can then work towards. But it is only the beginning, the hard work, patience and endurance that follows is what it takes to achieve your goal. You vision helps you to keep pushing against the obstacles.

manifestation without work and consistency won't come into fruition but personally I feel like there has been a conscious shift amongst the mainstream. I think minimizing manifestation to something that is 'New Age' is limiting. Also working hard and rise and grind culture are rooted deeply within capitalism and with the pandemic many people have recognized that the empire is truly crumbling. That we can pursue alternative lifestyles that we have been discouraged to pursue. Everything takes energy, everything requires an exchange of energy and sometimes that is the energy/sacrifice necessary to bring that manifestation into fruition. However it is also important to note that you need to place yourself in the mentality to receive your desire. You have elevate yourself to truly believe that you are worthy to receive those things that these pursuits have to be rooted in faith.
@allisonmcadoo96873 жыл бұрын
I agree with what you are both saying but manifestation at its core is the process of elevating yourself to meet the frequency that those desire are actually at. That has been skewed.
