When she said, “I’m going to consider my own emotions and desires before I make a decision.” I had to stop what I was doing and write that down because I don’t think I’ve ever checked in with myself first. Pouring from an empty cup was normalized since childhood. Sending love to anyone else that is going through their selfishness journey! 😘❤️❤️

Courtney: You need to be willing to give parts of your heart to other people. You have to be vulnerable. Me: no. No. NO. NOOOOO!

i struggle with giving from an empty pot 😢 .. i feel guilty when i don't help out sometimes , then i find myself in a deficit . but lately I've been trying to put myself first , for once bought something for myself and it helped boost my esteem . i was so proud of myself

"While. It's a good thing to give it's even better when you give with intention." I love the part about self-trust. It's such an important part of the moves we make in many areas of life. Great question from the sister and love the insight ladies! ~Candace

This episode was so hard to watch and listen to because I am the giver who continues to give until I have nothing. It’s something I have been actively working on and it’s so hard. Building boundaries and keeping them is so difficult. But thank you for the confirmation of what I already knew was true and the reassurance to keep going.

I love every single one of your podcasts but I tell you this read me for absolute filth. WHEWWW chilayyyy! Like I am so afraid to confront these things about myself that I genuinely wanted to turn this off. Thank y’all for this work, thank y’all for opening something inside of me, I’m ready to change no matter how uncomfortable. 🪷

I am a new subscriber to your channel hi ❤ Thank you for discussing about this topic and giving good advice on it Lmao this was something I needed to hear because right now this is the year where I have decided to put myself first and get rid of those that weren't beneficial for me. At first it was very difficult to make that big move because I thought that was a selfish move :( However, I realized that it is important to set boundaries and get rid of those that are not making you happy. Once I finally put my foot down, it really felt good to get rid of that big rock off my shoulders Lmao if that makes sense 😂 Right now I am currently still trying to figure myself out and trying to get out my comfort zone (getting to know new people) but its hard because I still have some type of trust issues and some type of fear cause of the past traumatic events I have dealt with.
