Fender these are truly incredible not only have you saved people from future back problems but I hope that you'll consider putting built-in attenuation on all of your other amplifier ranges. It just makes sense to me we all know gigs are getting quieter and even a 15 watt amp for a house is horrendously loud for those that want legendary fender tone in a house or an apartment. I understand that purists might get mad but I really think all manufacturers should have built in attenuators on any of their amps that don't have a dedicated master volume and even then some of these higher power amps are still too loud for home or apartment use. If people want a hot rod deluxe or anything even louder for a house or an apartment they have to buy a separate attenuator and those cost a fortune. These sound so close to the original well done!

@metallion07384 жыл бұрын
@@TheShatteredlamp12 . I desagree because SS or digital amps are so close to the sound of tube or valve amps nowadays that without attenuators built in in tube amps, people will start buying more ss amps or digital amps without busting people's eardrums in a place, this will decrease the sales of tube amps more sooner than later, plus they are way lighter than tube amps as well etc.

This amp sounds great! When people discuss if this amp sounds digital or not, they tend to point out really, REALLY small details, that doesn’t seem convincing to them. That’s fine, but do remember that once you mic an amp and once it gets send to the sound guy or the producer (depending on where you are) you won’t be able to hear those small details anymore, and when people are talking in the venue and when the whole band is playing, this amp will absolutely sound EXACTLY like a twin reverb, and no one in their right mind would notice that you’re not playing an “original” twin. Plus the XLR out is a great way to have even more control over your own sound, since different mics and different mic placement, can seriously mess up your sound, especielly if you’re using SM57’s. Not having to worry about mic placement is also a godsend for me when I’m recording, since i can go back and redo parts, without having to worry about the room, the mics or the mic placement. But if you prefer carrying a much heavier amp and dealing with mic placement, mic choice, faulty tubes, humming, not being able to record at home easily, tinnitus from crancking your amp, repairs, warming up your amp and breaking in your speakers for that extra 0,1% that only you are going to notice, then more power to you!
@queenhenryviii3 жыл бұрын
Dynamics and feel. That is what a tube amp has that cannot be replicated digitally. It was only a matter of time before the sound of a tube amp was properly replicated. And although it sounds fantastic, they just can’t digitally replicate how how vacuum tubes react. See, we love tube amps because of its dynamics. When the amp is at its sweet spot (aka edge of breakup)…. Your tone is in your fingers. Play soft and the amp is clean. Dig in and play harder, the amp distorts. Immediately back off and play soft. The amp cleans up. Yes the Tone Master distorts when the amp volume is turned up, but they had to roll off their guitar volume to get a clean signal again because the amp cannot mimimic how tubes work.

Hi Fender - A (tube equivalent of 40 watt) Princeton Reverb style cab is something a lot of us players would love; a single channel blackface AB763 circuit that's 19" wide rather than 24". There's plenty of wonderful all tube boutique versions of this concept by Rick Hayes, Lil Dawg, etc., that sound AMAZING, and fulfill all the headroom requirements for most all stage applications. A Tone Master version of that would be like 15 or 16 lbs. Put the same Jensen neo 12" in it. Pls consider.

I'm sold on the concept but before I buy one I need to know how they will hold up to real gig abuse. I've seen too many thin PCB boards with components that are cramped too tightly together with other components that generate heat. Thin PCB boards that break/disconnect circuit paths and open up poor solder joints. Those PCB's are made of something way cheaper than F4 and stink like cyanide when you have to solder repair on them. So let's see another video with these amps being kicked off a stage, thrown into a back of van, dropped off the back of a box truck, tumbling down a staircase, and have a gorilla fart on it along with other such abuses. Then afterwards have a tech look it over and get the amp back in working order with only common tools that an average tech would have on the road. Show me how thick those PCB's are and what these amps can really endure on the road then you will have me as a buyer.

@@jordangraf673 It matters a lot, because of preamp coloration. All amps have some amount of it, no matter the technology used (tube, solid-state, digital). You want to turn a Tone Master into a Super Tone Master...? Put the Fender MTG Tube Distortion Pedal in front of it. It gives it that warm-tube feeling & sound that fills the room just like tube amps do. Very low gain / high volume settings to keep it clean. Up the gain lower the volume to get tube break up / dirty / distortion. HIgh mids if you want that sound. It is basically now your pre-amp, a tube one. Fender should make this pedal mandatory with each amp, it is THAT good of a combination. I did it to the Twin, and I assume it would have same affect to the Deluxe. On top of that I bought both Black and Twin to compare, and ended up swapping the speakers. So it now has 1 British Celestion and 1 American Jensen speaker because I am a picky dumb ass who couldn't decide which one to keep. By accident I discovered that this is an amazing combination that HAS to be HEARD to be believed. With the pedal it is like a Boutique amp turning this into a Super Super Tone Master that can play any style you want with tube realism, yet with digital control for various volumes you want to play at ---The big TM advantage in first place Problem with swap: Now I have 2. Sweetwater is very open with returns as they agreed to let me return one after testing both, but obviously I cant return a modded amp. The tube based amps seems to be classic and well respected. What's the value or benefit of a digital version? Why wouldn't the buyer want a tube based amp more than these newer digital ones?
@JHPRS3 жыл бұрын
The weight of the digital amps are less than half of the tube versions and the maintanance of the digital amps would be basically non-existant. The XLR out is just icing on the cake. If I were touring or even just gigging regularly, I wouldn't worry about a digital amp being effected by temp or simply being moved around a lot. If these reasons make a difference to the buyer, then this is a great choice to have. :)

How about your engineers put a 3 axis accelerometer in reverb? Its digital. My phone has an accelerometer. Program it so when you kick the amp, its like a reverb tank. Fender, feel free to send me a prototype so I can check it out.

I had one of Fender's high tech G-Dec amps and it was lots of fun to dial in and out sound choices... until the circuitry crapped out and nobody could fix it... So, I got a couple years and then... nothing. What will this $800.00 amp do...?

I am getting a buzz/fiss when i play on the lower strings of my guitar from my Deluxe tone master. thought it was the speaker but ran the direct out to my scarlet focusrite interface and its there. cables are all good, tried two different guitars. its there. i reached out to fender with a general question but couldn't find a link for technical issues. i don't think this is software but i want to hear from Fender before i update the firmware as a remedy. Anyone else have this issue. i can't use it to record with this buzz/fiss.

Try a different power outlet. Similar issue with one of my amps. Dirty power outlets.

just get a HX Stomp pedal, it simulates fender amps and many others perfectly.

This is cool but.. why have they never just put an attenuator on a regular deluxe or twin or Princeton? Why have they never put a XLR line out on all these as well? I'm impressed but hesitant.. I really hope these are good for the sake of weight. Also, after all the trouble of everything.. why no effects loop?
@ricks66jazzmaster5 жыл бұрын
1) We have put attenuators on amps previously with mixed results. Doing this in the digital realm helps retain the sound at every volume on the switch. 2) We have put XLR outs on amps before as well but these also have IR (impulse responses that we did in a studio) that sound great. 3) Most folks use these amps as the perfect clean or slightly dirty canvas to use with pedals but also amps like this get their gain from driving the power tubes and effects loops never work well. Because the amp was modeled from these amps, it also wouldn't sound great when cranking the amp. Hope this helps.

@@ricks66jazzmaster would you consider trying putting attenuators on other amps again given that the gigging landscape seems to be changing where guitarists are actually told to turn down their amplifiers. For someone in an apartment like myself I would love to own a twin or deluxe but it's just not possible I barely get away with the Princeton I have in my apartment and the only way that is even possible is because my neighbor also plays guitar and doesn't mind the noise. Putting attenuators across all of your amps I think it would make them more accessible. There are those of us that dream of having a hot rod deluxe ETC in an apartment or a house but it simply can't be done unless the individual buys a separate attenuator which is a massive expense.

@@ricks66jazzmaster thanks for the response Rick, I have to admit from most of the videos coming out, it's really hard to tell. Can't wait to see more on these, but hope Fender doesn't stop thinking about how to modernize their tube amps for todays world.

the purists would go nuts if they changed the formula of the original. Someone, somewhere would say the tone isn't the same as it was.
@mattmanley71185 жыл бұрын
@@Bernard-Shakey well Mr Rick himself responded and I guess they put attenuators on amps before and people didn't like them AKA the purists. I hardly would think an attenuator on a tube amp would affect the tone at all but you're right somebody would claim it does

Does it need to being a good guitarist to work in Fender? Every tech, builders and ingeneer in their videos can plays good at least!

Leo Fender himself could barely play, so I cant see why not.

It doesn't, but many of them have love and passion to guitars and sounds, so it's natural for them to be able to play decently at least. You are good at things you love.
