Normally I don't like shorts, but I really like these. Thanks Marc!

At the end of the sig, after JB left Peavey, and near the beginning of the 6505, two changes were made. The transformer manufacturer changed and the power board was switched to the one in the 5150ii/6505+. Also, the values were the same, but at some point, minor component changes occurred, such as using cased pots at the beginning and then switching to cased ones. Mainly this keeps out dust, but the bottom of these amps are not shielded, so there could be a difference in interference. While it's usually good to shield things, it could change their sound. Maybe the change isn't noticeable or negligible but there were changes over time that may or may not have madenmuchb(of any) of a difference, but one thing to consider is... If you stack up a ton of tiny differences up on top of eachother, they could amount to a bigger difference overall. To illustrate how much JB actually thinks small changes can a difference, despite the circuit being the same, when they adapted the VTM 120 design to become the 5150, they wanted to keep the leads and lengths the same that go to the front panel to not have to evaluate differences. Basically, the VTM's control panel was angled, and that's why the leads are longer. If you look at the 5150 circuit bard, there is what appears unnecessary length of the leads. However, probably most of thebsign don't have major (or semi-major) changes.

So what's your point? All he's saying is the block letter and signature are the exact same amp except for the stock power tubes. Are you saying they aren't?

I want to mod my 5150II to the original spec. is C2 C17 are the only different parts?
