My tongue resting at the roof of my mouth has been the game changer for my asthma /breathing in general and has allowed me to breathe more deeply whilst breathing efficiently via my nose . I’m well aware of the importance of my tongue (colour, tone,texture etc) as an indicator of the health of our bodies through years of Chinese Medicine TCM . Oh and great at keeping the tone of your jawline!! 🙏🏽

Great video...I really like the tongue out pointed toward ceiling (great work out and it's playful, like being a true kid). This is such a good reminder! Comments setion is excellent, too, including what top commenter said about roll/rub tongue in front and behind teeth is massaging organs. After doing tongue roll/rub, spectacular natural clear diction and the right words just come out when on phone or in meetings at work or talking out loud to myself brainstorming. Also, great for neck and jaw: I've been laying on my back with my head hanging over edge of bed and lifting my head up 50 times. I saw this tip on video about increasing blood to head for greater hair health; tip was by woman in her 70s who does it 100 times a day to keep looking 20 years younger.

I thought about the Hindu god Kali when I saw you with your tongue sticking out 😛 . Perhaps Kali knew something about proper neck alignment Lol 😂. As a dental hygienist with a long history of chronic neck pain, I am fascinated, and am going to do these exercises. I also loved that you talked about chewing food using both sides of the mouth. The act of chewing has natural cleansing properties. I can easily discern when a patient chews on only one side of their mouth, because the neglected side will often have much more plaque and inflammation , compared to the other side.

very useful, I have been struggling with my tongue repeatedly returning and exploring a tooth cavity, which was part of massive mouth trauma year ago, I now see how it may be linked to me breaking my back and C2 & 3 a few years ago, and would explain the neck aches and headaches, as the tongue is continually out of alignment while it creates the weird sensation in my mouth where the tooth is missing and the gum is concave after several surgeries, will be practicing this exercise - privately!! - thanks for putting yourself through this for us :)

I’m actually quite an amazing trained singer my whole 31 years of my own life that I’ve had been through such an emotional struggle for more like 10 years when I found out I was diagnosed with tonsillitis and I was in a very depressing stage for when I knew the thought of losing my voice forever was going to affect my whole singing career but I couldn’t had been so very lucky I came out of surgery but it probably effected me emotionally so much I thought I didn’t have the confidence in myself in my heart that I would’ve had been quite an amazing singer like any other artist in this world that I look up to on this earth

@Fluidisometrics
@Fluidisometrics 11 ай бұрын
Hi, yes, it is but be aware of how it feels. If it causes tension or pain, it may be better to focus on other things first, namely the alignment of your ribcage as the foundation. This should help bring the neck and jaw back into better alignment and make it easier to align the tongue. I hope this answers your question!

Are you meant to be breathing through the nose while sticking the tongue out? It seems the breath wants to go out through the mouth unless you close your lips on the tongue! Also it seems to make breathing from the diaphragm much more difficult. Is that normal? Thanks for addressing this, it's very interesting and may have something to do with a singing voice becoming very weak?!
@Fluidisometrics
@Fluidisometrics 2 жыл бұрын
It can be more difficult to begin as the tongue needs time to strengthen - you can breathe through your mouth initially, and notice as you work with this if it becomes easier to nose breathe.

After doing the first 8 videos in the starter program, I have a feeling that I could trust my ability to “find” areas on my body that “need” the pressure and just put the block there. A version of intuitive yoga. Would that be risky in any way? Please advise. Thank you so much. I absolutely love Block Therapy!

Hi, thank you for reaching out. I absolutely understand. Depending on our alignment, it may be very difficult to align the tongue properly. Focusing on alignment farther down, such as keeping the ribcage lifted, the shoulders back, and the lower body rooted and solid, may help position things better. If there is simply too much tension, do not try to hold 100% of the time. You may practice in short intervals and hopefully be able to hold for longer over time! I hope this helps!
