Glad I ran across this! I'm a guy that's lifted for for over 20yrs and after a 5+yr layoff and almost 45 now I've tried to start lifting again and discovered my diastasis recti about a month into training so most of that's on hold now. I've been trying to tighten everything for the past few weeks, not just pulling in. The hardest part is just remembering to stay tight during work and regular daily activities. If I can fix this they say it could be a major reason for my back pain too which would be amazing. Good luck everyone!

by the way, I am assuming that these exercises can help with a belly formed after such a surgery and a c-section...? I hope the answer is yes... And also, it was four years ago... so...crossing my fingers!!. I will definitely talk to my gynecologist about all this, as well. I am going to give him a piece of my mind for not telling me that this could have had some thing to do every time I complained about my saggy belly! 😒 luckily, KZbin channels like yours are being a total eye opener for me!!😊😊

Have you seen anyone who has regressed like this? I’m not having pain, so am not thinking umbilical hernia at this point 😕
@toneandtighten5 жыл бұрын
Hi Ginger! Actually yours is not an uncommon report. Please don't take this personally, but oftentimes it can take 6-12 months to lose all the fat a woman gains during pregnancy. It may not have been noticeable at first, but as you've slimmed back down it can become more apparent. Just stay consistent with the right exercises and you should start to see some improvement. I just posted this vid this week - might be a great place to start! kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqXSppiLfqideJo Good luck!

You really have great and helpful videos, thank you! I have been doing ab exercises that are not good with my DR. However, I really hate my love handles. What about standing ab exercises? Are they also a no-no? I'd appreciate your response.

Hello, I really appreciate this video. After my last child two years ago, I went to PT where they said I had DR and it was measuring at 5 fingers! They had me use a sheet to pull the muscles together this created a weird pooch almost as if everything went to that area. I started looking 5 months pregnant! The DR did change to like a 3 finger measurement. My question is do you think this would help with that huge pooch (it is like lower middle abdomen)? I just found out we are expecting again. Can these exercises be done for someone in the first trimester?

How long should these be done until you can add back some of the other exercises working the upper ab area!
@toneandtighten5 жыл бұрын
Great question, Jennifer! That's going to be a little different for everyone depending on your consistency and rate of healing. As you check your diastasis (kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqHWp3ybfKd-q80) you should find the gap "narrowing" and "becoming firmer". When you're pleased with your results/progress feel free to re-include some of the more aggressive RA muscle contractions. Hope that helps!

Hey Jared, amazing channel! how long in your opinion should new moms avoid regular ab exercises, specially those who had C-section?
@toneandtighten5 жыл бұрын
Great question, Sha! Depends on if you have this diastasis condition or not. If it's there, avoid them until it's closed. If it's not, I would still start with these exercise first and then work into the more "typical" exercises after 2-3 weeks of these. Hope that helps, and thanks for you kind words!

😢😢 I was doing all these wrong exercises for more than 3 years and I'm not happy that it was a wast of time. I would like to know if it takes alot of time to heal and is it too Late to start after 3 years?! Thanks in advance
@toneandtighten5 жыл бұрын
Lamees Samhour, you are not alone-a lot of women do not know the right and wrong exercises to do if you have a DR. It is never too late to start! The time it takes to heal is dependent on how deep the separation is and how often you do the correct exercises. Start with the 21 day challenge: kzbin.info/www/bejne/envVgaadobmgp9U

Thank you for an amazing video! I definitely was doing wrong exercise (crunches on a yoga ball). It's very clear and easy video you guys made. I just have one question: can I use this exercises while pregnant (all most 7months at the moment) or it is only post-natal exercises? If so, what kind of exercises would you recommend during the pregnancy? Thank you in advance for your reply! 👍😊
@toneandtighten5 жыл бұрын
Congrats on the new little one, Batina888! I would not do these at 7 months; the first two trimesters yes but I'm afraid you're too far along now. Simple exercises like walking and elliptical are recommended. Bodyweight resistance and light weights are also okay.

Loved this video, after I had my second child I got this condition and at first i didn’t even know that I have it and of course I started doing all of the exercises that’s I shouldn’t, my second child is almost 4 and I still have that protruding stomach, I will start doing the exercises and hopefully I can heal! How do I know I it’s completely gone ? And is running good for me, cause I’ve been doing quite a bit of that too?
@toneandtighten5 жыл бұрын
Lots of women don't even realize this problem is there postpartum! You should still make some good progress with these exercises. Here's how you check for DR; this is also how you can gauge your improvement (taking a 3-finger gap to two...): kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqHWp3ybfKd-q80 Hope that helps!
