Tonerider Hot Classic Telecaster pickups

Tonerider are easily my favourite brand of pickups. Tone/price ratio is insane. I have the alnico 2 strat pickups in a player strat and love them. I have thise Tele hot classics, but I'm not fond of Teles in general, so the guitars being sold. I saved the pickups and put the originals in though.

Tonerider pups are epic. I have a pair in my Jet Jt 300(tele). I have a hot classic in the bridge and a alnico 2 blues in the neck. Sound absolutely amazing. I discovered tonerider through your channel. I have a set of there vintage classic strat pups in my Jet Js 300 after watching your review on them. Tonerider pups plus jet guitars equal epic guitar for very little money.

Interesting combo, can you tell why you choose alnico II for neck? More clarity? Or something else?

I have the hot classics in my home build. I wired them in a 4 way selection (series and parallel) - I particularly like the neck pickup

Hot classics are fantastic and compare very well with CS Broadcaster in the bridge and CS twisted in the neck. They are also reserves polarity so hum cancelling in the middle position. Highly recommend adding a 4 way switch so you have both pickups in series as well as parallel. Series is like having a humbucker on board.

Tone riders rule! they are a good set,, just wonder will Tonerider Alnico II classics PAF humbucker set give me the foo fighter sound? or different tonerider set cheers Pete.

From a pickup perspective, yes, as they’re Alnico ii’s like Dave’s and a very similar resistance. You’d need a similar signal chain to Dave to sound like him though

What’s the telecaster? Fender with a chapman reverse neck?

I made the body and it’s sprayed with white blonde nitro from Northwest Guitars. The neck is from a Chapman ML1x. A little random

If you had a Player series telecaster do you consider to change the pickups for one of this?

Maybe. I did have one. The pickups weren’t bad but they weren’t amazing.

Ive got the birmingham hss set in my pacifica. Absolutely fuckin brilliant. Super nice, sound amazing, and for 110$ shipped, fuck it.

I'm yet to see a comparison where Toneriders don't hold their own. You could double the price on every set and you still couldn't complain. (But just don't tell them that)
