Yess that's inspiration for you & it can motivate you to try it, I'm no professional artist however I did start drawing since I was a kid & it runs through my family as well and everyone has their own skills but now I started something new which is drawing storyboards & animating 2D and freelance it takes a long time but let me tell you it's worth it if you try it and put the effort anything is possible you just have to be inspired and motivated

I don't know how you do to do video on such specific theme that are EXACTLY what people struggle with. A lot of video talk about big picture stuff - but you do videos that help on thing people struggle with but no one thought about documenting. A true gem in the KZbin educational space. This is exactly what I was looking for right now ! I feel like this is a very important thing that I am personally struggling with ( and maybe other too ). Getting that rough pass right is something I just learned was so important in the process - not just some random sketch. Before, I'd use thing like the hipless-stickman and get the motion really right but then totally STUCK once I had to add details. And it really took me a lot of time before realizing that, because I was impatient and solely focused on the motion without thinking of the next step. So this is truly a lifesaver man ! THANK YOU ! And I never feel like I recommended this channel enough T-T

Man, you totally nailed why my last animation project in Uni (first year) was so tricky and unfun for me. I had been using a sort of F/G hybrid...and for someone that is still trying to understand his life drawing and anatomy....this was really hard. Like, tearfully stressful and restricted how loose i was thinking. I wanted to be loose but i was thinking analytically...which really a problem. Thanks for making this showcase of techniques, I will try working with the simlar methods then perhaps apply F to a later pass.

My goodness you convey weight and momentum so well. Also if you're animating a story board that much the industry should really call it an animatic and even then it sounds like it's almost just doing the rough pass the way you described it. Really silly of them to put that skill on the story board

Thank you for taking the time to make this the best you could. I have bad adhd and hearing people pause for too long or be too slow can make lectures impossible to pay attention to, and even in school I often just use textbooks and self teach. You keep your flow going and it helps a lot.

I tried doing a bit of animation. I did a hybrid of D & F which how I do my illustration works usually; having bad anatomy fundamentals with a dash of perfectionism ended up with me taking upwards of 2 hours for a single panel first pass haha. Maybe I'll explore when I do this again, B & C sounds appealing and fun to do.

Honestly just do anything that gives you the most autonomy. I like doing it that way first because I personally have problems figuring things out if they dont feel planted to the ground - so I force myself to do that. It may help people, but others might have a different approach.

As a novice drawer I am confident using approaches D, E, F, H, and I; however, as an animator, the A, B, and C approaches are more comfortable for me to do. I've done storyboards using the Skeleton approach but with the movement and fluidity of H and I because I am very familiar with human and nonhuman anatomy and motion in general. I hope to practice F and G in the future, but only once I have A to E down. Thanks, Tonika Pantoja!

@@david83597 Well, I said 'great vid'; not 'great class.' I would take these vids (and any other you see online) as sound advice from practiced art veterans rather than the keys to the kingdom. There really isn't an easy solution or magic trick to being able to execute on drawing well. Also, watching someone draw isn't as invaluable as you're making it sound.
