Very cool. I have an old Tonka car transporter that used to belong to my son, he is grown up and left home so the Tonka is now waiting to be converted to a working RC. Proper classic all steel truck and trailer, it's gonna be heavy but planning to install a brushless system and get some static model cars to put on the trailer. There is also a Tonka forklift but that project will have to wait a while. Already have a converted Harry Potter Weasley car with a Rlaarlo AMD12 chassis squeezed under it. All good fun to make something a little bit different. Looking forward to see Your build.

My wife’s grandparents had one of these that she used to love playing with when she was a kid! The thing was in mint condition. About two years ago we were there visiting and one of my kids left it right behind our SUV rear tire and I backed right over it. I was so sad!

These things don’t need no stinking chassis. They’re built like big metal bricks, grab some axles and go build. Mine carries its own spare batteries, and our water bottles on hikes. A ton of fun to drive. edit: I used a 775 Summit brushed motor instead of the smaller 540/550 can, because I planned on it carrying the cargo but I don’t think you really need that overkill after all, a center skid plate is essential. RC Life is Good.
