Hi Renee! Do you have to wait for the Tonka fruit to dry and wrinkle before removing the bean? Would it compromise the flavour? Or can you just cut open the fruit and use it as is?
@reneeandrews4802

Charissa Harewood Good question ! Yes you would have to dry it. I have never really interacting with the fresh fruit but yes dry it and try it

You have to let it cool and chill and it will separate from the sides of the pan.

About to try this cheese cake but I have just a few questions before I do . This will be my first time ever making a cheese cake so it's really nerve recking .Is it possible to switch out the tonkabean for something else or just leave it out completely to make a plain cheese cake with the rum caramel sauce ? And would the cream cheese need to be room temperature ? I've watched a million and one videos in preparation to make a cheese cake and so far a lot of them says it needs to be room temperature and you guys didn't specify so I didn't want to assume . Also in the video u said to use 1 1/2 cups of sugar but your full written recipe on your website say 1/2 a pound I googled searched the conversion of pounds to cup and it says 1lb =4 cups so now I'm confused is it 1 1/2 or 2 cups ?

The tonka bean is actually toxic in large infused doses. Even in small amounts, I wouldn't recommend using it in food.
