This weekend we were talking with our cousins about dating /relationships and Ngozi mentioned she feels the average man does not desire marriage and their ideal situation would be a live in girlfriend who will have kids for him. Ironically Tony Gaskins just released a three part series titled “How Did She Get Married?” where he outlines the reasons some "simple" women get married before the attractive ones. In part two he discusses why black men delay marriage.

It's not the 5% badies, I live in LA and I know a girl who swears she loves me. But that's because she knows what I make, I have seen her talk about guys who don't make a certain amount of money like they were dirt. Also, the way you worded women are okay with a man who makes less if he is "well behaved" rubs me a certain way. Great video regardless.

@1:58:00 - I personally know 2 women who had to pay spousal support to their husbands when they divorced. One was a dentist and the other was a university administrator.

Yup it goes both ways but the conversation is always one sided. Very frustrating!

That's exception to the rule, generally women are hypergamous, and the courts system is set up to punish the bread winner they has to be married to men they made significantly more money than.

You'd have to be crazy to get married with the current divorce laws in America far too many men have lost everything simply because she isn't "happy" anymore.

But men bounce back quicker, financially, from a divorce than women.

@@annlulu29 So what guys work hard for what they have they aren't taking any chances when it comes to marriage until the laws change and that doesn't even go into the other aspect about how the dating market is trash for the vast Majority of Gen Z and Millennials men.

A solution includes men marrying women who are financially stable. We discuss this in our live. Many men complaining about child support and alimony married women they are significantly better off than financially.

​@@EJIMANnenaNgoziThat depends if you have an older guy in his 40s certainly but a guy in his late 20s to early 30s will be looking at a woman who's in her early to mid 20s to marry and have a family with the vast majority of people in their early 20s are going to be broke.

@@dred9174 The vast majority of men marry to those who are their age peers. That's usually +/-3 years from their own. A late 20s man would mostly likely marry a mid-20 woman. What is he doing hanging around college sophomores for? Unless he's having early mid-life crisis. Or is he pushing up on the new intern?

@60 min this definitely depends on your lifestyle. A man with no children and no debt does not need a high salary to marry. When it comes time to have a baby, though, it will matter. For example, I could only take 2 months off after my baby bc of our finances. Even though we are in a much better situation now 10 years later, I don't know if I would recommend women to do that, if they have a choice.

I'm really surprised at what you are saying. I'm more than 10 years older than you so maybe things have changed in the last 10 years. ut when I was single I found that decent born again Nigerian guys desired to get married and have children. All my husbands friends are Nigerians and all married, even the one that wasnt married was keen to settle down. Ladies we need to be very intentional and careful about the circles we move in. I will give it to most Nigerian men or I will say Igbo men as I have met more of them, they are very serious about having a family. Maybe the Nigerians in America are different, but here its rare to see Nigerians in their 30s and 40's coming from divorced homes
