Tony Hawk's Underground (PS2) - Skater: Tony Hawk - Level: New Jersey
It is the fifth game in the Tony Hawk's series. It features the ability to create a custom character, and supports face mapping and online play. Unlike its predecessors, Underground focuses heavily on its story mode, plus is also the first game in the series to introduce the ability to travel around levels on foot.
For the first time in the series, the player can get off the board in order to walk, run and climb around as an alternate to skating. This is necessary to reach some locations and challenges. The player is now able to leave the skateboard in the middle of a combo of tricks and continue the combo elsewhere, as long as he or she continues within a time limit. Added to the moves in THUG is the wall push, the wall plant, hip transfer and acid drop.
In each level of the game (usually by beating a challenge that requires it), the player also has an opportunity to use vehicles throughout the level. Encountering the professional skateboarders in each level features them trying to teach the player a new trick to add to their slots (although these goals are not necessary for progression in the game).
The game's default in story mode is the Custom Skater. By playing the levels and challenges, the player can pre-emptively access the professional playable characters in Free Skate modes, as well as unlock secret and bonus characters through Story Mode.

TH Underground was definitely the best in the entire series. I personally think. Had an amazing story mode, and gameplay. The online play was really fun too. Was really dope. I liked the others too but i think Underground tops them all.

You want to hear a sad story? This game came out in 2003. It supported progressive scan across the board, but on the Xbox, it ran in 720p widescreen @ 60fps without framerate drops. THPS5 came out last year, about 13 years later. It supports the standard 1080p with cheap post-processing and struggles to maintain 40fps on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. They don't even fucking try anymore. They don't care. You see something like the Nintendo Switch announced and you realise this complete lack of concern for evolution is going to continue. PC is gimped by it too, since most big games are developed for consoles first and then ported to PC. The industry isn't about being groundbreaking or fun anymore, it's about how much money that can be sucked out of the consumer when they occasionally play mediocre games on outdated hardware they use mainly to stream films on. Remember Rogue Leader, Wind Waker, Star Fox Adventures or Metroid Prime on Gamecube? Remember Halo, Conker, Jet Set Radio Future, Crimson Skies and Black on Xbox? Remember how fucking good all those games looked? I'm not the kind of guy who prefers graphics over gameplay but I think it's safe to say that when the Wii proved successful, everyone else decided graphical and sound fidelity didn't matter anymore. When I built my first PC to play Mechwarrior 4, it was an endeavor. You had to go down to Fry's Electronics or some place like that with a friend who may or may not know what he's talking about and install all this shit that'd take forever to download. Took a long time and even then the consoles were still coming out being almost state of the art. There were guides on how to turn an Xbox into a PC. Now it's easier to get all the parts you need to build a computer that's 10x better than today's consoles for no more than 600-700 dollars. There are pre-arranged carts on Newegg if you're that lazy. *What the hell happened to the industry?*

Childhood I'll never forget I remember playing this game on Christmas Day on Playstation 2 with my brothers in the morning we opened our presents early the story line was good even the began of mission runaway from the gangs in New Jersey going to different levels like Manhattan and other levels with your custom skater the skate demo competition wasn't hard at all it was fun playing this game from the beginning to the end awesome game ever made my favorite one out of all Tony Hawk Pro Skater series.

#1 Hands down best Tony Hawk game in the series with the new changes. This was revolutionary at the time first with a story mode and first time you could get off your board, back in the day this was big for gaming BIG. Like GTA with guns as skateboarding tricks and bullets as combos. When I found out I could get off my board while playing I flipped a shit.
