Absolutely Love Tony and not just because of Blackadder. He is one of the very few presenter's today who actually makes me feel genuinely happy and engaged when i watch him. I'm also curious if he might have lived in Australia part of the year as he seems to have a real interest in the history of the country and it's lifestyle and must have spent a fair amount of time here filming these episodes.

I've stayed at Granville - literally next door to Parramatta. It remains the best town I've ever been in Australia. Brilliant programme Tony - so entertaining!

May I ask why, since I only sadly know about the Granville train disaster but I’ve never been to the town itself.

@Janys Haynes I agree. I dont want them to knock down any part of Parramattas History. That includes Willow Grove and St Georges Terrace

11:33 I used to live a few blocks from Prince Alfred Park so seeing Tony there is a bit nostalgic for me. I loved living in Parramatta, such a vibrant area, and so close to everything.

I agree. After knocking down the royal oak hotel too. It was over 200 years old:(

Dencof69 I live near it and walked past as they were knocking it down, I was pretty shocked. The whole area is a mess at the moment because of the light rail.

@Graham Wood and @Bruce Gawthorne The Government are also trying to knock down St Georges Terrace and Willow Grove both very old (c200 years) places.

Dencof69 that’s horrible :(. They are definitely destroying the history of the area.

our dad took us kids to parramatta lake up the road from Richmond back in the day and told us it was called lake Illawarra so he could have a couple of shouts at the tollgate hotel and still get us home before dark with mum thinking he'd driven all the way to Wollongong , I drive past the lake on JRD and laugh at the old mans antics god rest his alcoholic soul lol

As Sir Tony said Parramatta is becoming a multy cultural city, thats hilarious as it has been for 60 years or so, little India is a perfect name for it

I must say, I'm disappointed that this program didn't head five minutes down the road towards Holroyd, where the remains of the old Brickworks still stand today. These ruins were once a thriving business at the old Goodlet and Smith Brickworks, and many of the iconic building in the Sydney CBD owe their grand architecture to the company.

Tony seems to invade women's personal space regularly and intentionally.I'm surprised this is overlooked. He's kind of a creep. This happens in almost every episode.
