Just shared this with a young kid at the bus stop who had some drum sticks in his pocket. Said he been playing a year. I was like...keep going and this is what you can get to one day. Always like to share inspiring music performances with people who are just starting. It can really make the difference between people getting bored with playing. Experienced players take the knowledge of other players and different kinds of music forgranted sometimes. I remember when I first discovered higher level music and realized just how much possibility there is with your instrument of choice.

In my book, best drummer on the planet. Have always loved his skill. Can play with and flash at the same ttime. People, please get your kids into playing an instrument. Its one of greatests gifts you can give them.

35 years ago I sat in that room learning from so many great drummers. And so many still playing, teaching and performing in that hallowed hall of education! Met Tony in '03 at House of Blues with Marco Minneman and still have the shirt he signed! Awesome...
@jedimindtrix2142 Жыл бұрын
In 03 Tony would have still been pretty young. I first saw him in that famous video of him at 12 years old when I was. In my early 20s. So he couldn't have been much older or maybe even younger than 12 in 03? Crazy how good he was as a kid and now...just wow. I'd love a chance to play some guitar with him on the kit...

@@jedimindtrix2142 wrong Tony would’ve been 19 years old in 03 and obviously a total professional by that time. Marco Minnemann would’ve been 33 himself. Both are still elite players and have gotten even better

Mike Mangini is way faster. Check out his stuff from 2002 in China and Steve Vai's show drum solo in 2002. He looks like he is sped up. Terry Bozzio in 1998 was faster as well. He looked like he was sped up playing Klangfarben Melodie. Unfortunately Terry started slowing up around 2016. Mike Mangini is not as fast as he used to be either, but in their prime they were the fastest I have ever seen. It's not just the arm and hand movements, it's their body movements that look unreal.

@@patrickomann3580 you know you are absolutely right. I certainly know very very little if at all about drums. This was just a random thought that crossed my mind while watching the video. Your comment is a good reminder of that. This guy absolutely blasts on drums. It's just not so much of my taste the way he does if I am being honest and thoughtful about my perspective.
