Spotify brought me here. Instant fan! BTW very good recording. SO many live performances on here have horrible sound quality. Congratulate whoever did your sound!

I heard a lot of good things about Tony Spinner, and I’m really glad I did because there aren’t many blues players like him.

Cool funky version, I've done similar with other bands but some guys aren't into that feel. I am a versatile 5 string bassist former lead/rhythm in 60's band.

Why does everybody rave so much about Eric Clapton, Very few appear to have heard about Tony Spinner and I would put him up there with the best. Amazing musician with a great voice.
@glennjohnston631010 жыл бұрын
Dude - you don't have to walk on Clapton to raise up Tony - there's room for both of them. Not everyone who now knows about Clapton knew of him the first few years he was blowin; let's see where Tony ends up four decades from now, shall we? THEN you can justifiably compare.
@joeymyopic9 жыл бұрын
+Gary Gilbert if you only counted claptons body of work up to layla, especially delaney and bonnie live, his best playing ever, there still only be him and hendrix with honorable mention to SRV in the AAAA league. no knock on tony, he's very good but i'll bet he'd be the first guy to agree!!
@bluesmakesuhappy7 жыл бұрын
I half way agree with you and when you look at the big picture as far as what he's done over the years in so many different bands, I finally understood with a lot of people... Do I think or agree when people say "Clapton is God"? NOPE! But there's a bunch of very cool songs that he's done with many... He's not really impressive to me on playing blues but whatever lol... before I started playing guitar and getting paid for it around town doing gigs with a few different bands, I had a very low opinion of him... It's very different now... And this Tony guy is pretty great.
@jmitch78137 жыл бұрын
Back in about 1966 when somebody painted "Clapton is God" on a wall somewhere in Britain, Eric probably was god. And that was before Cream, Derek and the Dominos, Delaney and Bonnie, and all his solo work to follow. God is an inspiration to some people. I'd say Clapton was to an awful lot of guitars players, too!

Any way you could do a how to video of how to play this song on guitar? I have been tying for so long and can not get it quite right
@yjmsrv6 жыл бұрын
It's just in E pentatonic- e down to D for the first part- then go to the m3 and 3 for the dadada part- the whole motif is just a lick in E pentatonic but you go back and forth from the minor third to the major 3rd on the second half or the riff. Use your ear- we covered this last night in rehearsals and killed it- it took all of 1 minute to learn. It's easier then you think, it's the groove that makes it cool. Then Tony just riffs around on the I chord in E for nearly the entire song.

Hi Tony! I'm a Cape G. boy like you and about your age. Getting to know about you thanks to a recent mention from Lee Sklar. I gotta say you got it going on with nice rhythm/lead chops & a happening voice...BUT...those screaming harmonic upwards glissandos (I ain't heard nobody do it with a sound like that!) at 4:00 do violate Ordnance 12.A.X7 and so I must report you to Officer Bonamassa. You'll probably have to serve a couple of after gig detentions restringing & polishing(!) ;-)

I first learned about Tony Spinner listening to Grooveyard Radio. The fact that people in America are unfamiliar with his music is a testament to how dumbed down our country has become. The "music" industry only promotes degenerate, talentless "people" who throw out the usual symbolism.
@marilynmantis54092 жыл бұрын
You've probably learned by now that Tony Spinner has already been there, done that with Toto.

Awesome band and the guitar chops are just insane!! Holy shit - Tony just KILLS it on guitar!! Drums and bass are both totally solid too but, overall, the band is kinda boring visually, at least at this show (sorry). It would be great if you guys would move around more on stage, engage the crowd, dance around and be showmen, act like the guitar-trio Rock Gods that you absolutely are! Regardless, really nice work, dudes!! I'm a new fan fo sho!
