I have tried to use this with no luck. Thank you for this! I do have a question though. Can you upload a picture to make a graph? I’m trying to make a baby blanket for my granddaughter, but I can’t find what I want to buy.
@nanascraftyhome5 жыл бұрын
Absolutely you can upload a photo to make a graph! When you click on create chart, choose the kind of chart you are creating (c2c) for example, then select from picture option. You will then be able to upload the photo from the next page. I hope that helps! 😊

So do you want to use symbols instead of colors? Because that is an option in Stitch Fiddle as well. There are several available symbols you can use and I believe that an X is one of them. I hope that helps!

Your video has been very helpful using Stitch Fiddle. I am trying to make a C2C shawl with a design on it. Is this even possible? Thank you.
@nanascraftyhome2 жыл бұрын
Yes, absolutely that would be possible! The easiest one to make would probably be a rectangle shape shawl but it would also be possible even with a triangle shape. Just remember if you design as a triangle shawl, the bottom of your triangle would be the corner worked on the diagonal so you would want your design to be situated in that way. I hope that helps and I am so glad you found the tutorial helpful! 😊🌸
@debraolsson44212 жыл бұрын
I’m having a difficult time with putting in the dimensions! Shawl would be about 68 by 30. Are those the numbers I would use? Have you ever thought of doing a video on C2c shawl on Stitchfiddle?!🤪

@@debraolsson4421 is that 68" x 30" rectangle or triangle?

@@debraolsson4421 I do have a video tutorial for how to use the Stitch Fiddle Size calculator to determine the size of your finished item. I have the paid one and when I follow what you said I don't get the option to adjust chart size it will only let you add rows or columns there is not an option to delete rows or columns . When you click on chart settings - general settings (title, folder, craft) , direction ( l or R)- number 1,2,3, - grid( hide or show, Gauge)-notes and more which consist of things like change colors, sharing, download, copy or delete so how can you change the size to make it smaller. I don't see anywhere that will allow you to do that. Also, when using an picture or imagine it will come out distorted unless you increase the size and limit your amount of colors. I wanted to create a L. James 23 jersey c2c throw for my son which consisted of 3 colors it gave me 8 colors so I had to go in and delete those 5 extra colors and basically I had to fill in pixels to make it look right which wasted a lot of time! Something that should have been 4ft W X 5ft L ended up being 16ft w x 16.5ft L. there is no way to down size the anything which makes this program useless and a waste of money. I think you should make people aware of this issue. yes, it is nice when making your own design but many of us don't freestyle our graphs.
@nanascraftyhome3 жыл бұрын
Are you trying to create a new chart from a photo and how to make it smaller? I have found since making this video that making a c2c graph from a photo is difficult because it makes it so large. It works quite nicely for tapestry projects however. I haven't played around with that function much simply because I design my own graphs. For deleting the "extra" colors when uploading a photo I have found you can easily delete and change them to another color easily by going in to the color palette and deleting that color. It will pop up with color options you can change and replace to. However, I would suggest reaching out to Stitch Fiddle and if it won't work for your needs perhaps they can refund your money for your purchase. I am sorry you didn't have good luck with it.

Thank you so much. You have helped me so much. But how do it to add my own picture? I have tried, and it didn't look good at all.
@nanascraftyhome5 жыл бұрын
I am so glad you found the video helpful! I think I may do a tutorial on how to add a picture in Stitch Fiddle as well. However, it does have some limitations especially the smaller you want to go on your graph. I think you almost have to do a blanket size in order to really get it to look right. The smaller the graph the harder it is if that makes sense. Even if you are creating a large graph you will still need to make some manual adjustments to the final graph. At least that seems to be my experience with it. It is a great feature but I do think a little more challenging. I will play around with the feature and do a follow up video.

Iam also trying to a picture into chart but not able to do in a single 20/20 boxes.can you help me.
@nanascraftyhome2 жыл бұрын
There would be no way in Stitch Fiddle to take a photo and turn it into a 20/20 square. When you use this feature it will default to a 100 pixel block size. You can then decrease the size but you will lose significant details from the original. I would recommend trying to recreate the photo as best as possible manually. I hope this helps!

I have a question. Is it possible to create a graphghan that you work in the round?
@nanascraftyhome3 жыл бұрын
I don't believe that Stitch Fiddle has that functionality for graphs. Now, I have worked in the round using a graph that I created just using the number of stitches I was working. However, it was for a bag in which all the rounds were the same stitch count - no increases or decreases. I used it for a tapestry bag which you can find here so you can see the example: nanascraftyhome.com/retro-chic-tapestry-crochet-bag-chasing-diamonds-free-crochet-pattern/

Your video has been helpful, but I am trying to add a clip art picture to a graph that will be for an afghan about 45" x 60". When I add the picture it makes it too large and goes out to the very edge with no allowance for a border around the picture and I cannot make it smaller. Any suggestions? Thank you.
@nanascraftyhome4 жыл бұрын
When I upload an image I have to make it quite large in order to get the appropriate detail in the image. I then save it and make adjustments to the graph at that point. In order to edit a chart click on edit, then click on edit chart. You can then add a border or make adjustments to the size as needed. I hope that helps! ❤️😊
