Earlier this year I was seeing a guy that I liked a lot, he worked a good job, he was good at complimenting me, and he was an all out gentleman at first glance. About 2 months into dealing with him I noticed he wasn’t putting in the right kind of effort. He wouldn’t plan dates, canceling dates, but was always available last minute. So I told him it wasn’t working for me and decided to walk away even though I really liked him. Just recently I found out he started seeing someone else and completely broke her heart with the games he was playing, I feel like I dodged a huge bullet but I also feel bad for the new girl. Ladies it’s imperative that we recognize the signs of grown boy syndrome and cut ties IMMEDIATELY!

When you stop abandoning yourself, no one can abandon you. When you see yourself with clarity, you will be able to see others clearly. When you let go of fantasies, you won't traffic in fantasy. When you talk straight and talk true, you won't go sideways. Other people cannot be the template or the standard of your full experience. Find a better blue print for yourself and remember, you are in a universe of choice.

“The grown boy chooses everybody so the real question is why did you chose the grown boy?” Here are your options: you don’t know your worth, you don’t know the traits of a grown boy, you forgot you have options regardless of what you look like because beauty is in the eye of the beholder 💞💞💞💞

@tinajones1932

@Dr. Elaine, remember the saying "when you know better, you do better?" When a person chooses a "grown boy " it's either a result of: 1) needing healing, without which you will reach for, give into, SETTLE for the boy. Just to fill the void. Or 2) when you're not WHOLE as an individual, you have low self-esteem, low energy, and insecurities. Then you feel that anything (grown-boy) will do. You Dr. Elaine are able to present that question because you know, it's best for you to take a stance and not waver. Which tells us that you are healed and you are whole and you KNOW both your value and your worth. And I salute you!!!

I think some women grow into recognizing what a grown boy is after they've been taken through some immature drama and some never are able to decipher between a grown boy vs a man! LOL! A lot of guys choose somebody they sense won’t cuss them out and jack them up. They don’t want a woman to be blunt and brutal to them. But what these guys don’t see is that they are not suitable for a nice woman who won’t be like that. Like with me, guys tell me how terrible another woman did them. Threw bottles at him or whatever. But that doesn’t make him suitable for someone nice and mild tempered. So how I see it is this: Don’t look at me just bcuz I’m nice. I have no sympathy for you. I’m not gonna be with you just bcuz somebody else jacked you up. Bcuz I know that the brutal ones he is most suitable for. Just bcuz he don’t want that treatment doesn’t mean that it’s not what he’s suited for. So when I see a man, I don’t look at the plights he’s telling me about, I look at how he is and the kind of behavior he’s into. As for instance, if he has no respect and just want to use and smash and think that women should be fast and have no sense, then why should he have a nice woman who would be nice and good to a man? He don’t deserve that. The ones who will cuss him out and jack him up are the ones he deserves. I don’t criticize women like that. I respect them. Bcuz they have sense enough to treat a man the way he deserves to be treated. It bothers me to see nice women walking on eggshells with a guy who don’t deserve a nice woman. It’s wrong to respect a man who can’t show respect in return. So nice decent ladies, you know who you are. When you see a man whose not ready for a nice lady like you, stay out of it and leave guys like that to their kind. Never mind their whining. Turn your emotions off to that.

Kurtis Miller True. But a lot of guys who think they are living life right are not. That’s all in their mind. For example, about 2 months ago a married man thought he was gonna have me as a side chick and found out that he’s not bcuz I don’t go with married men. Now to him, he sees himself as a good man who respects his wife. But that’s not how I see him at all. To me, men like that are unscrupulous to put it as nicely as possible. I have more consideration for his family than he does and I don’t even know them. My sympathy goes out to his wife. Not him.

It reminds me of my realtor agent. My realtor agent is a Chinese guy from Canada. He's a very good looking guy 7 to 8 on a scale. When we first met last year in January. He didn't think I was attractive because I had my head shave. Whenever he shows me houses, he looks like he was bored and he didn't say nothing much to me. As my hair grows back he's see me in a different light. My hair grows fast so last year April he's try to paint a picture in my head about marriage and started asking about my family background ( btw I'm Asian and I love listening to you and a few of the other dating coaches) I was like ok...whatever because I remember what you and the other dating coaches were saying that don't believe his words if his actions doesn't match. And this is when my hair is down to my neck. Then in September I caught him looking under my shorts when we were in the basement at a house he was showing. When I try to walk away he blocks me and tells me about his morning. I was like "that's cool" and leave there. Now whenever I goes house hunting I would bring a friend, my brother or my parents. In November he tell me that he likes me with long hair. I was like "thanks" and didn't say anything else. Now he realize that I'm not falling for his tricks, two weeks ago he finally revealed that he has an fiancee. I was like this guy has red flags. He's a cheater, womanizer and perhaps a liar too. Thank you for you and your channel.

I'm light skin and believe it or not i hate the stigma. I didn't see it as a privilege at all. This social standard was set to divide snd conquer ...so i get disgusted by these pseudo standards. .stigma comes with being light skinned too bc people assume we are stuck up and blah blah when I dont even see things like that . So your voice, character and perception is invalidated before you present yourself to the world. Youre already put in a box before you speak or act!This is what society does to divide snd conquer . I also hate it when men choose me bc of that one trait . It's like they dont see me they see what looks good , or at least to certain people ..this happens in other cultures too not just in the black community ...I'm multiracial and in my culture its similar. it hasnt been easy growing up in the US especially around all these stupid labels. So I'm commenting to let you know how the other side feels as well. I know there are others like me that feel the same way and we feel how u feel just the other side of the coin. Also, when you are trying to relate to someone It is best to first acknowledge them and their struggle or their story before just stating your own. This does not come off as though you are being supportive understanding or caring. It does come off as being self centered when you do that. I do agree that We do all have a struggle as black women. It didnt come from us, it has been passed down to us. God Bless

This video struck a wound that I didn’t even know existed in me, and it makes sense to me why I also have low self esteem. When I think back to middle school I was always the girl that was overlooked by guys in my middle school. It was a few guys that like me, but not many. I had really bad acne and I used to wear goodwill clothes and cheap tennis shoes lol. That did make me feel bad about myself. When I got to high school more guys liked me than in middle school but I still was really insecure about myself. When I would hang with my friends at the skating rings the guys would always approach them and not me. I always felt overlooked by guys now that I think about it. Now I’m 25 and when a guy seems interested in me I can’t believe it and even take him serious. The guys that I liked never liked me back and that was hurtful as well. I noticed the damage that it caused me along with other childhood trauma that I experienced and I realized that I need to learn to learn myself for who I am but to be honest it’s been a struggle.

It’s so sad that some men pick out women just to treat them like s***. Just because a woman looks a certain way, it doesn’t mean that she’s deserving of disrespect and mistreatment. Nothing good will come to a grown boy who does that to a woman.

Just dated a grown boy and ran for the hills after 6 weeks. His compliments were always about my physique, complexion, skin, hair, nails but it did seem like he was going down a checklist it was so scary.. not as scary as the textbook narcissistic qualities that he didn’t wait very long to show me… to this day I consider Gods deliverance from that man as a major win in 2023

I’m definitely the one whose face hadn’t caught up with her nose and teeth in particular, who has also become successful in my own right. Ironically, I find myself being the runner; cutting men off very early when they don’t measure up and many don’t. It annoys me to think that I’m seen as an easy target at times. I’m happy with my looks, however, being physically attractive causes me to attract a lot of 💩 and it’s a lot to sift through... trying to figure out the keepers from the losers. It’s just easier to be alone sometimes. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Too many nuances.

Long story , but I'll do my best to stay on point. Years ago. I was talking to this this African man. I figured out really quickly that he thought I was going to be his "do girl". He figured that because I had a dark complexion, full figured, didn't dress provocatively or in the latest fashion, he THOUGHT that I was an easy mark and was desperate for a man. Because he had taken me out on a few cheap dates, he thought I owed him bedroom time. He was looking for someone to marry (citizenship) and someone to pay his way through law school. NOT. He told me how he was going to alienate me from my family and friends and how he was going to "%*
