I actually had a man tell me this last week. A colleague at work who is married. I'm not even the type of woman who is braggadocious or boasts about degrees or accomplishments. His reason for saying I intimidate men was because I take care of myself and appearance. In his own words, he said men will look at me and think they can't afford me. At this point, I'm just over it lol. you look a mess and they don't want you, you look really good, you intimidate them.

I am convinced that men are not intimidated by women. A man I started dating recently told me that he started paying closer attention to the text messages he sends me since I told him that I am a published writer. He said that he is intimidated. We both laughed because he was making a funny joke, and we moved forward with our fun date. It's not a matter of intimidation. It's more incompatibility. I should know because I was in that situation last year. I think these terms get confused by some people.

I had a few men tell me that men are intimated by me, I say, "Well, that's not my problem, that's between that man, God and the devil." I am not going to stop being myself or shrink who I am to make someone feel comfortable and secure in themselves. In most cases, I don't even mention anything unless asked. I am humble and remain that way. I thank God for my accomplishments, but I judge a person by their character, integrity, and personality. I come from humble beginnings and continue to remain humble.

@Joyful n Blessed men are not petrified of rejection. The corporate world is filled with men. That world is the most demonic evil community I've ever been part off. The fact is simple. He either likes you or not. He knows in himself what he can handle or not.

It's more than what job or degree you have. It can be a class or a looks thing too. If a woman is eloquent and classy and conventionally beautiful, she'll attract lots of guys but the average guy knows he can't offer a similar level of value to her so she may become a turn-off. That or he knows in the back of her mind the minute she meets someone on her level he's in trouble. I'm pretty smart, but if I'm talking to an astrophysicist I can sense really quickly that my current level of smarts won't be enough to sustain them. Not ALL men are intimidated by a successful woman but the average guy knows he won't be able to sustain them.
