I started boxing when I was 14! I’m currently 16. I’m in love with boxing, it’s the only thing I can think about. Can’t even focus in school. But Ik there are people who started when they were 6, hell even earlier. People tell me I can’t do it, that it’s too late. But this is the only thing I want to do. I want to become a world champ one day. Ik there’s people faster, and stronger then me. I can’t control that, but I can control my work ethic. Do you personally think it’s too late for me?

Hey Tony, thanks for making this! Really highlighted some important pieces of info for me, and what I should do to pursue boxing as a whole. I'll be continuing my work and school, but hopefully win some Golden Gloves regional then a national tourney. Not fully certain of how the Olympic qualifiers go, but ideally after climbing the ranks, I could attempt to go your route, rather than "going pro" off the bat not earning enough to live on. @@Tony_Jeffries All tbh. When I spar I’m just so scared of getting hit, and even with street fights when I used to get bullied I’d get so scared I’d just freeze and overthink all my enemy moves. When my coach tries to hit me with pads for defense training I get so anxious I also miss them and end up being too slow. It’d be great to get some tips so people like me who struggle a lot can overcome their fear and anxiety to excel in the sport. I also literally forget all my training because of fear and throw random combinations haha. So I’d appreciate help and training advice regarding anxiety and excessive overthinking so that I’d grow more confident and box better. Thanks for your time man!

I always thought of it like a soldier. You never stop being a pro. That being said I’ve heard the joke technically every one is a undefeated boxer… if they have never boxed competitively.

Totally correct. Just like wing chun kung fu. Out of the 4 million people practicing wc have all been had. There only a hand full of wc real practitioner in the world who no real wc. Like boxing. So many people teaching boxing who no absolutely nothing about real boxing. Then destroy a up and coming boxing career. Keep up the good work.
