Would be great if you could do a wrap video POV style. I’m just getting into boxing and it’s been kind of hard learning how to hold the wraps, what fingers to use to hold the loop, how you wrapped around the knuckles, etc… for whatever reason the wraps are just very awkward for some of us. Really need a “how to wrap for dummies.”

Just use your intuition
@functiondisruption11 ай бұрын
The use of intuition is a flawed solution. People who are very new to this have not yet developed the intuition used to tell what is right or wrong effectively, leading to overlooked mistakes and bad habits formed. We need to be taught the correct and effective method so we know what a good wrap looks and feels like. Proceeding with something new on your own is how bad habits are made, preventable injuries that do not teach us are inflicted, and time is spent unnecessarily trying to form an experience base, when you could have used that time developing skills that take a lot of practice instead of skills that can be taught.

@@Lil_vara Stretching? A lot of very painful injuries are because your muscles and tendons are not prepared for the movement they make. It's not a big problem when you are young, but with time a proper warm up is really crucial to safe and (relatively) painless workout :) Trust me, i'm over 40 and had a few strained muscles in my life;) One of the worst was in my neck :D You then begin to realise how much you turn your head around all day, hehehehe.

Yep that's how we do it here in Philippines except that after making a loop about 4 times on your finger, that loop will be then folded lengthwise then place in front and just a bit below of the knuckles so that the impact is not directed on the joint itself. Try that and it will also give you an advantage in sparring as it is hard like the gauze you use in pro fights

I've just started boxing training. But only to get fit, not for competitions. I have so much respect for those who subordinate their lives to this sport and train so hard! Your videos are great please keep it up! Best regards from Germany

Only recently subscribed to you’re channel it’s excellent, I have 2 questions . They may have been addressed previously not sure. Is there any videos for developing fast footwork? Good exercises or drills. Also any videos or recommendations on stretches or warm up exercises for hands and fingers? I have bad hands and find it hard to make a fist and results in sore hands after sparring and pads. Keep up the great videos.

This method is very similar to way the way were taught to wrap hands in muay thai, my way is pretty much the same way except i use a gauze pad so i have more wrap for my wrists and rest of my hands. edit: curently using winning ng2 knuckle guards

Video Idea: It would be great to see a video specifically dedicated relaxing the shoulders and snapping punches vs. push punches. I've seen you mention it in other videos but I don't believe you have a video specifically on the subject. Are there situations where a push punch is better? Are they a complete no-no? Is snapping the most important thing since Sliced bread lol? I'm just trying to figure out how important is it to focus on the snap and the proper technique for the snap. As always, you're the best instructor on YT. Thanks.

Tony, this is literally what the Dr. ordered! I am ancient (60 in 1 month) and I use vibrating tools at work. My hands are always a bit swollen and they wake me up with numbness in the night. My wrists, particularly the right, being right-handed, is a weak point. I have incredible hand strength but no grip! I have a hard time wrapping anymore having lost a lot of fine motor skill and stopped, using gloves only. I always thought I was losing some protection, but fighting with the wraps when training time is limited. By the time I get situated I either have to cut some other important part of my routine or speed through everything. Your method can be used even with my fumbling fingers! Thanks again for the great inspiration.
