1: Cleanse Some people only cleanse their skin once a day, and if you do, do it at night bc at night you’ve gotta get rid of that day’s worth of pollution that sits on your skin, oil and dirt, dried sweat and especially of makeup. Let your pores breathe and let your skin rejuvenate overnight 2: Toner - can skip 3: Retinol or Growth factor Anti aging cream and ideally a retinol or a growth factor or peptide based type of cream. Retinol is Youn’s 1st choice of anti aging cream, being a type of vitamin A. Its prescription strength is called Tretton Owen or Retin-A, scientifically shown to reduce the aging process, exfoliate the skin, thicken the dermis, etc. Use it every night - top option for anti aging The prob: can be hard for the skin to tolerate, some people get some temporary dryness and flaking, or even some inflammation. In most people it goes away, so if you’ve got sensitive skin and retinol does not work - go for a growth factor or peptide based cream Growth factor has a little more science behind than the peptide cream, but the prob is they are really really expensive Peptide based cream is really easy to tolerate, doesn’t have as much science backing up but do work and can help reverse your aging 4: Eye cream Youn recommends retinol for the rest of your face, and retinol eye cream for the eyes. Retinol cream for face can be a little bit too strong and the skin of the eyelids is some of the thinnest skin of the body. If you apply aggressive retinol, it can get holter and thinner and a bit creepy 5: Moisturizer Not something you have to apply to your skin, some people especially have oily skin then STOP at step 4 bc you don’t necessarily need except in the winter your skin can get really dry
@Thouxanbangeo3 жыл бұрын
People with oily skin DEFINITELY need to moisturize.... Our skin over-produces oil to compensate for our skin's lack of moisture. If you have oily skin opt for moisturizers containing humectants such as hyalauronic acid, honey, glycerin, aloe vera etc (not recommended for arid environments as humectants draw moisture from the air into your skin)

I only eat fresh food and fruits and vegetables and nuts I am healthy too. I don't smoke cigarettes and I don't eat sugar and I don't have diabetes. I am an athlete, I do not use steroids and I eat healthy food with collagen because collagen is important for my skin and my sport. Dr Anthony is right, you should take care of your skin with cosmetics and also with healthy food, because sugar or smoking or junk food and trans fat and sunlight ages the skin.

@@divyaj3031 Here some recommendations. I personally like to use the Inkey List Retinol Serum but if you're willing to invest in a really good retinol cream try the Drunk Elephant A-Passioni Retinol cream. Don't expect to see a huge difference after the first use. Damaged skin will not heal overnight. And don't forget to apply sunscreen in the morning! It would be kinda dumb to use retinol and still keep your skin exposed to the sun without protection. As a Vitamin C Serum try the All Day Vitamin Brightening & Balancing Facial Serum from Jumiso. Hope I could help 😄

My morning routine is pretty quick (cleanse tone moisturize sunscreen hand lotion), but I take more time at night. I make everything from scratch except sunscreen. 1) Oil-based self-emulsifying cleansing balm 2) If I'm using a mask, I use it here; I might do AHA, or niacinamide and N-acetyl glucosamine, or shea butter and colloidal oatmeal and urea, or occasionally a clay-based mask 3) Toner - pH-balanced, very low or no alcohol, niacinamide and N-acetyl glucosamine, panthenol 4) Ceramide gel 5) Cream moisturizer with 5% niacinamide, panthenol, vitamin E, allantoin, hydrolyzed protein, and an antioxidant-rich extract like green tea or blueberry - or if I'm breaking out, I'll use a cream with tamanu oil, chamomile hydrosol, and calendula extract 6) Oil serum with sea buckthorn seed oil and antioxidants 7) Spot treatment - tamanu oil blend on blemishes 8) Lip balm with hyaluronic acid 9) Hand lotion - something with ceramides, vitamins, etc. I'm looking at purchasing a retinol complex and a stable delivery system for vitamin C.

Most dermatologist will suggest the use of moisturiser especially for oily skin. Because when we moisturise, our body will stop to over produce the oil on our skin because it's no longer needed. I was skeptic, but boy it works like a charm. In less than a week my face become much less oily and healthier. Mind you my face was so oily i have to bring an expensive face wash in my bag just to get rid that oily face every 2 to 3 hours in the office. But after i moisturise 2x a day, i only need to wash it once at night!

I do remember once being told as a teenager that the best way to keep your skin clean is to wash your pillow case a LOT! Like sleep on it one side one night, the other side the next, then wash it, so you're never sleeping on dirt from the night before. Especially if you have acne. And no matter how frustrated or tempted you are never clean your skin like a crazy person, using harsh astringents like tea tree oil neat or toothpaste. Trust me it doesn't help. Just use a steady routine. I found that worked better more consistently until age cleared it up.

@lee-134 жыл бұрын
Carmel Casint I’m not certain about your particular environment but I know even if you’re not going outside you still have to wear sunscreen because if you have glass windows UVA rays (which contributes to premature aging) can still penetrate glass windows. Some people argue that they have special curtains/blinds that prevent UV rays from penetrating but like I said you know your environment so you be the judge. But many dermatologists and skin care experts recommend wearing sunscreen above spf 30 indoors/outdoors/rain/winter/cloudy skies because that UVA ray is a creeper! Enjoy your skin care journey :) PS reapplication of sunscreen every 2-3 hours is important too

Ok. I’ve ordered both morning and night product. Got some OTC product but retinol eye and E-C from Dr Youn. Will report back in a month. Love his site. Everything makes sense. 🥰

Hi dr Youn, I wanted to ask- -if we do all the steps (toner, serum, emulsion, etc) without waiting in between, is each step still effective? Or do we have to wait a certain amount of time in order for it be effective at all? -can we put toner on with our hands? Or do we have to use a cotton pad? -is spf 18 sufficient on our faces if we barely go outside? Or should we opt for a higher spf? -the leftover liquid from a face mask, can we incorporate that into our daily regimen? Seems like such a waste to throw that away. If so, do we do it after cleansing and before toner? Thank you!

How much waiting time would you recommend in between toners, serums, creams and spot treatments? Or you can apply them immediately after the other? Thank you Doc for your insightful videos! 🙂

Seysil Lai that’s exactly where I always have doubt ... I always do them after I feel my skin has fully absorb the product but never like five min in between because I’m very impatient and normally tired by nighttime xD
