Perfection. I could just drown in his voice and she's a legend

This is one of the most beautiful songs that I have ever heard. I LOVE the chemistry between the two of them. This is the perfect way to end Act 1. This was honestly my favorite part of the show. What a well constructed moment between two people that is so believable and beautiful!

I've seen Bernadette live and she is STUNNING! Her emotional involvement in the song is something you can't fake. I love her voice personally, but even if you're not a fan, you have to admit her emotions are spot on. And I love to hear this beautiful song sung by someone who isn't so operatic.

Thank you for posting this! I saw Follies on Sept 29, and bawled my eyes out during this song. Mr. Raines has such an exquisite voice!

@nhw808 really? Because thanks to such people I had a chance to know music of Bernadette Peters for example, and then, to buy it normal. So..now I have almost all her CD's. I live in Polen, where Bernadette is total unknown and I can't buy her Cd's in shops- I have to order that in amazon etc. so...don't generalize. P.S TameApples- thanks for posting!

They are good, but watch Audra Macdonald and Nathan Gunn for a truly moving performance.

@Eyllek. One's response is usually subjective, and everyone has different taste, but I've just watched the vid you suggested, and I'm afraid I have to disagree. There is no real sexual chemistry between Hearn and Cook. Even just standing still Audra conveys her feelings. Gunns's voice is effortlessly thrilling, and Audra manages to lose the cover she sometimes had in the past and sound less operatic. No matter how often I watch it , it never palls.
