I saw them at the Roskilde festival 4 july, and it was one of the best concerts in 2024, that i have been to. If you get the chance, go see them live, they do not disappoint in any way. I was able to watch Harunas legs on the bass drum, and it was insane to watch the tempo of them. They played Holy war, and every time Asami hit that wild high note, people jumped and cheered even more. They have 3-4 show in september, if i remember correctly, in the US if you live there.

This song is amazing, great production from the recording and film standpoint. It was part of their 5 of a kind DVD/Blu-ray from 2020. They had 2 shows that actually made it to Blu-ray during covid. This one and the other one is "Heavy Metal never dies" Live At Tokyo Dome City Hall, Japan 2021. They are both spectacular Blu-rays, they also did a Live studio recording during covid called "Awake again live from abyss" which was a full live studio play through of their 1st Studio Album "Awakening from Abyss" with a bonus track cover of Helloween "Eagle fly Free". It was a limited sell and the only way to purchase it now is to shell out $800.00 from a 2nd hand sell. The video "Set the world on fire" was from Heavy Metal never dies Blu-ray.

Going to Japan is definitely the way to go if you can do it. Their Japan shows are more complete, on bigger stages, and with better support. I have just returned to NY from London to see their last show in UK and they were absolutely amazing. But, their Euro tour was staged on a shoestring with next to nothing support. They didn't even have an electric piano to play Miyako's keyboard songs. Miyako was doing all the sound track and they requested fans to help move their instrument. Despite that, they sounded just as full and energetic. The reality is their music is considered old fashion and just doesn't have the younger fan base outside of Japan to support larger venues. In Japan, you will have bigger and longer song setlist. Usually including a few tracks with Miyako showcasing her piano skills. They will have a show in Tokyo I believe on Sept 1 or around that time. Also, next month they will be releasing an EP featuring 5 new songs, so they will probably be featuring some of them in Tokyo as well. Anyhow, go do it if you can. Otherwise, they have 3 shows coming up in Dallas, SF, and LA in early Sept. Can't recommend them enough. Enjoy!

This one is typically the first song reactors go to as their first reaction. The Metal Queens just wrapped up the European leg of their world tour. Many videos on KZbin posted by fans from these European dates. Everything they do is fantastic, but this recording might be the best that do exist. Not because it is the best song and not because this is the best they have done, but because everything is totally flawless. The song, the performance, the sound and the video editing. The catch of the pick in the mouth. They did three mini-solos where you saw them one by one doing it. Asami's best points were just fantastically filmed. Upping the volume for the bass during the harmonization. Etc. This video is a masterpiece!

I'ts fun to hear you praise Lovebites so much! They are really something. So you just dived a bit in Japanese Metal and Rock - I would suggest to get a little deeper and find more Japanese female metal bands - almost all equally skilled like Lovebites (with the exception of Miyako who really is a genius. Did you already hear Lovebite's Swan Song with the Chopin-Intro played by Miyako? She plays the piano on concert level. When I fist listened to it, I couldn't believe what I saw: a concert pianist AND a world class metal guitarist AND a really skilled composer - all at the same time in the same person. Awesome...). I would suggest to check out the new line-up of HAGANE with their new MV which came out just a couple of days ago and already reached some 150k views on KZbin. The title is Tenka Goken (The five swords of Japan) and is a marvelous piece of metal music to my opinion. Sakura (guitar, composer and bandleader) and Junna (the most entertaining drummer with high energy and formidable skill) are two real masters of their craft! Check them out - you won't regret it! Other bands would be East of Eden (best start: "Evolve"), Koiai (guitar prodigy Lisa-X and drum prodigy Kanade Sato), Asterism (guitarist Hal-Ca) - and there are more to discover. Since I stumbled upon the Japanese rock and metal scene some years ago, I almost hear nothing else - seemingly I'm a bit addicted to these musicians and their music ...😅

There is an anecdote about this song. This song seems to be hard on the vocals, and when Asami was recording this song for the first time in the studio - a first for her as well - she got a nosebleed. For a while, therefore, this song was called "Nosebleed War" instead of "Holy War" by the members.

Miyako and Midori are awesome. Japan has so many great female guitarists though. Sakura in Hagane's new song kills it plus their drummer Junna. If you like guitar try Marys Blood Marionette with Saki (ex-Nemophila). Saki is technically still a part of Marys Blood as its on hiatus right now. Then there is Lisa X and Nemophila's Hazuki in KOIAI's song New Picture. There are so many more as well. The only thing with Lovebites is this. They should have way more subs and fans. The world needs more Japanese ladies touring the world and getting recognition.

You've said in previous videos and in this one that your favorite track so far is "set the world on fire" - that was my opinion too, before they released their latest album. It's incredible, but they've written a better track than that, in my personal opinion. If you like Lovebites' "thrash/speed" metal style, this one is in a different league: "Soldier stands solitarily". I'd advise you to have a double reaction to this track: why? There was a presentation of this track when the band presented their latest album via a live zoom internet where you can see the band members in their respective homes. This link is better than the live version they made later for audio quality. I advise you to start with this one to fully appreciate the audio, here's the link : kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJavZ3l-hpVkjJY When I listened to this track for the first time I wondered, given its speed, if they were able to reproduce it live, nothing impossible for them... especially for the "Haruna speed" drum set here is the link : kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6fJgoOblrCqjtE

So, Japanese metal is on an incredible roll, especially the women, who are kicking ass on an epic scale. Another great band you should check out is Bridear. Founded in 2011, they were in the second wave of all-female heavy-metal bands. They have the classic twin-lead attack and technical rhythm section. They have gone through some changes but have always kept their hard, heavy, technical sound. Their tiny bassist even does death growls! They just released their new album on June 28 (Japan time), and it’s a banger. BURRN is calling it a masterpiece. The Metal Hammer review compares them to Lovebites.
