This review just forces me to save up for a Honda S2000 and retire the E46 M3. I totally agree with you, that the NSX and S2000 are the best Hondas and THE ONLY Hondas I would totally throw money at for all the good reasons. You can't beat Honda's rwd cars, no matter what Type R Integra or Civic you have. Truly a legend and for all you folks that have one, hold on to them as there will never be cars like these in a few years. That's why I'm holding on to the E46 M3 cuz even BMW doesn't make bimmers like that no more. Awesome review David and that car is a total joy. I need to have one before I die. True driver's car right here folks, you can keep your dual clutch GTR nanny mobiles.

bimmeracing While I'm a huge BMW fanboy (for all the right reasons) I do love my JDM cars, especially these old gems. The S2000 is really worth a drive and definitely worth the ownership. The M3 and S2000 have no comparison as one is a sporty coupe while the other is a sporty roadster. They're both great in their own ways and a perfect garage for me would include both of them, along with my old R32 GTR :p P.S. E92 M3's are amazing. You should have kept it buddy as it was the last of the unmolested ///M cars, though the new M3/

Wow that's strange. I always thought Porsche was quite possibly the most reliable german brand, though I almost consider BMW as the Toyota of Germany, due to their reliability. Oh well, welcome back to the light I guess. I suppose the newer Porsche's are horribly built, like some guy has a whole channel dedicated on KZbin to exposing his Porsche problems and ownership, and Porsche wasn't listening and now finally they gave him a replacement model lol.
@bimmeracing10 жыл бұрын
i liked the Porsche , but many many raddle noises. i hate it ! and other stuff , i never go wrong with BMW , my M3 had 0 problems in 70.000 km of everyday , trackday , with remap and exhaust , worked like a clock ! M Power doesnt play , buy a S2000 , but stick with ur E46 M3 ,

s2000 such a great looking car, pure NA sports car through and through. Driving a boosted car for a while, then experincing a decently fast NA car, it puts thing in perspective. I noticed your showing the car more off in this Review while transition back and forth, move in the right direction.
@ThatDudeinBlue10 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I am trying to show the car more and more with days where I'm not as limited. Most of my reviews before have had a very very strict time frame for shooting so it was very much a "shoot and run" kind of deal. The exterior shots take a a lot more time as well but they are worth it

You could get a lot of excellent low mileage (50,000 or less) S2000's for 15-20 grand. You know. The price of a brand new Honda Fit. I picked up a well maintained one for 10 grand and 100,000 miles. It's a Honda. Everything still works.

how high is it? I pay 700 a year for full coverage on my S2000. That's like 58 bucks a month. I'm over 25. Let's double that and that would be a reasonable $116 a month. If you can't afford the insurance on a used Honda sports car, you have no business driving one.
@catnip11719 жыл бұрын
Jonathan Zabala im 21 riding a brand new r6 and my insurance isnt that bad. 65 a month and my bike is far faster and presents much more risk then an s2k would any day of the year. just saying its 100% possible you just have to want it bad enough. its just like everything else in life:D

@jacobmitchell857 жыл бұрын
I don't think you've really experienced the s2000 and you may be misleading people by saying it's an easy car to drive or a beginner car, this car has been known to kill people who don't know how to drive and that's because at high speed 100+ mph the back end gets very light and steering at the speed through turns takes a steady hand. Wouldn't suggest it as a first track car or if you plan on going really fast in the canyons
@MetalsForBrunch10 жыл бұрын
s2000 is a lot better than the brz and miata. No offense to brz and miata but its the truth. I get 24-26mpg combined on my s2000 with all that power and abuse I couldn't ask for more. Miatas and brz gets lower mpg and a lot less power. S2000 and nsx are the only essence of Honda and it's a shame the Honda chopped off their left and right nut discontinuing both cars. SIGH.

Im kinda thinking of selling my g35 coupe for a s2000... decisions....
@hondata97410 жыл бұрын
Selling your G35 Coupe for an S2K will be the same thing as selling your 350Z for an S2K since they are both the same cars except the G35 is roomier, has better quality interior than the cheap looking 350Z, it's a 2+2, and more expensive and the 350Z was an S2K competitor. I prefer the S2000 over the 350Z and I like the G35 Coupe better than the 350Z since it is more luxurious than the Z, roomier, sexier, and have better quality materials, but I would sacrifice luxury for fun to drive factor and lighter feeling and performance, the S2000 is more fun to drive, better ride, it can outhandle the Z and G35 and those rides feel heavier and sluggish just like a Mustang, the S2K better well-engineered, more reliable, more fuel-efficient and you get a NA 4 Cylinder engine with more than 100 HP per liter than can run with the V6 Z and G35. The only things you will sacrifice in the S2000 from the Z and G35 is torque and a better exhaust note, but that doesn't matter to me, I say go for the S2000, however, if you still want luxury quality in a sports car, keep your G35, or else, buy an E46 M3.
@thompsontime10 жыл бұрын
HJ Farooqi yea the only cars I would trade my G35 are a s2000 or E46 m3. I just got my G to the build I wanted and to me it handles great in the canyons (not on the same level as the s2000 due to its weight) but as my all purpose tool and DD its a good fit. S2000 in Los Angeles traffic would be a B**** if I didnt have something else to drive as a DD with the S2000 as my second car.
@hondata97410 жыл бұрын
thompsontime Well the S2K isn't a commuter car, it is more of a weekend cruiser and even though it doesn't have an automatic, it would ruin the point of an S2K just like an auto Miata and that's why you see more Miatas with manuals. I agree that the G is better for DD, I like it better than any 3 Series except the M#, it gets the commuting of any luxury car, but you can take it for the weekends too like the 350Z, I would prefer manual, but the G would still be fun even with an auto unlike most auto sports cars, same thing with Porsche's PDK transmission, but yea, I would have a second-hand automatic car for commuting if the S2K was my only car, if your G is auto, I say keep it and save enough money to buy a 2nd car with a manual, or else trade your G for what car you want. Very good point though.
@thompsontime10 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the input man! I will have too see what the future holds for my cars. I know if somehow I get a lot of money I am def building a canyon carving S2000 first :)

I love the way the reviewer says "Go ahead, go a little bit faster! You'll be fine." He forgot to add "And then it bites you head off..." I've had a 2003 AP1 for 5 years now and I quickly learned to respect it. If you drive it hard enough, you're constantly on the edge, it's always a challange, that's what I like about it most. I've spun it twice but was lucky enough to survive both 180s without a scratch. Knock on wood...

Great video from an AP1 and now supercharged AP2 owner. One correction though. It wasn't released as a millennium car and because of that being released in 2000. It was Honda's 50th anniversary gift to itself and they had only planned to make it for a couple of years. The "2000" in the name is for the displacement of the original F20 engine.

Great vid bro, I want a S2k so bad but the insurance rates are crazy for it. The commentary at end was funny do it more often.

Great review. Listening to you talk about how much fun the s2000 is to drive, reminds me of my 91 300zx. That car was a blast to drive. I wish I still had the Z but my 06 mustang gt is just as fun in it's own way

Sweet video man!!! I love the s-2000 but I have yet to get to drive one but a local car dealership that my family has gotten cars from has a beautiful red sp2 on the lot so I am going to go there and "test drive" it haha. Nice seeing some video reviews from local's "540 represent!!!". Subscribed!!!

Great review and awesome video angles. Awesome shifter, very raw vtec motor,amazing handling balance and easy to live and drive day by day....... I think you pointed out the main key points very well. My only wish is that Luke keep his s2000 stock. Its going to unbalance the chassis design and afraid that its going to lose the Miata syndrome " drive fast and not getting trouble " Thank you for sharing your thought about s2000! and You look really happy driving it!

The rear geometry in the ap2 s2000 is optimized in comparison with the ap1, in the ap2 they just support less stress and it corners easily and faster.

Great vid man. I like how u respect everyone's car cuz ppl hate a lot for no reason and they hate a lot on hondas so thanks for this vid, imma true honda guy but I also respect other cars and I also like other cars like you

I'm 6'4" and fit in my S2K fine, but lower seat rails are in the works. Only real problems are jabbing the ignition key into the inside of your right leg and the door for the radio into the outside of your knee cap when you get in and forgot to close it.

I really wanted a S2000 or a Miata. But my mom said they were to small so I got a 2013 Mustang Convertible V6 Premium. In the bright red. And its safe to say I'm in love :)

Love s2000's. My dream car would be one with individual throttle bodies like the one Speed Academy is building. They sound amazing!

You should review a Del Sol. Im thinking about buying one, and your happy attitude of hondas and cars in general might sway my opinion.

It's funny you say it's really hard to get a ticket in a Miata or S2k. I've had my Miata 8 months now within the first 3 months I got a speeding ticket going through back roads 😢 700$ later

Saw one of these today and it was so good looking! I don't think I would be able to live with it though. I have a stock 335i and I'm not into the whole tuning lifestyle, plus I like having back seats just incase.

Nice review and I too always had a soft spot for the s2k (though I prefer NA/NB miatas as a base platform for mods since they're considerably lighter), but you gotta admit that's some hardcore biting from the s2k regular car reviews episode with the "it's mine" lines. :P

I really want an s2000. My friend had a white ap2 with full exhaust and cai. It was such a great car. Very quick around corners. And personally I think it looks better than the frs.

I still have my s2000 I keep it clean by the turbo In the loud exhaust that's all I need I'm happy with it It's a white s2000 Inside it's all red Change the stock system And the door panels Of the speakers inside of the car I have a Bose sound system Sounds freaking incredible I need to have that big bass
